I'm also infected by this crappy infection as well like after a month of installing Lion OSX. Re-installing Lion solved most of the problem, but cannot play video games in both OS: Mac or Bootcamped Window 7. I'm thinking serious to downgrade to Snow Leopard...

I have the same graphical glitches as you buddy.
Hope they release a new 320m driver, even though, oddly enough, only the 2010 13" macbook pros seem to be having this issue -__-"

Has anyone even seen Apple acknowledge this issue? It seems to be getting zero attention. Disappointing that it is taking this long to get some kind of a fix.

Hey aeronauticsrock! I have exactly the same graphic issues as with your screenshot last July.

I'm just wondering if you were able to have your MBP fixed? Was it because of flaky video card that needs replacement? My warrantly is still extended until last week of December. So I have only got few more weeks! I'm terribly frustrated. :(

Let me know of any update you have with your Mac :)

Thanks!

I still have the problem, although it seems to be VERY intermittent these days.

I am convinced it is bad graphics drivers in Lion, especially seeing all the reports from people who had the same issue since Lion came out.

Best we can do is report the issue to Apple and hope for the best.

Ok- WTF is going on here... Apple is rapidly becoming a joke to me. They must know this is going on. I filed a bug report.

I bought a Mac because I didn't want to deal with BS hardware issues. What excuse can there possibly be for this broken driver?

I am never going to buy a Mac again after this debacle.

OP should have done a search on this issue because there are so many who has similar issue as matter of fact I'm one of them and i did start a thread on this. Actually the problem is not with Nvidia 320M its with Lion!!

Why, when I'm using SL i do not see the problem but in Lion i see the problem?

Lion isn't optimized for previous iteration of the macbooks......

I'm back to SL now...

I have this same issue on my 2010 Mac Mini with the Nvidia 320m graphics card. It appears to be happening in different programs, although I notice it mostly in Chrome because I use it the most. 10.7.3 didn't appear to resolve the issue. Anyone have any luck after bringing theirs in to Apple? Just wondering if I should wait for an update or bring it in.

This started happening to me since april last year, took it to apple at least 3 times, all they did was replace the display. The problem obviously wasn't to do with the display but the so-called "geniuses" insisted it was a software problem even after memory, harddrive swaps and several reinstalls of the OS. Apple needs to fire all their mentally challenged staff. Now that I'm out of warranty, I'm left with a defective unit, nowhere to go other than spending unnecessary money to fix this POJ. Hopefully somebody would file class-action suits against apple like back in '07 with the faulty 8600s.

Here's mine. Sent to Apple, they claimed logic board problem. But still, the problem still appear until now even after the "genius" replaced the logic board.

I have not seen this issue with my MacBook Pro but I've run across similar threads in the past and one thing that I've noticed is that this issue seems to occur with Safari and/or Chrome (and I think I have a recollection of iTunes being involved), both/all of which are based on WebKit. I may be wrong, but I don't think it's hardware or OS related, but more WebKit related. It's possible that it's some combination of WebKit, OS and hardware though. I primarily use Firefox and have never seen the issue personally.

Chalk up another 320m on Lion having this issue. It only happens in Safari, and I don't notice problems in anything else, including 3D apps.

Another MBP to add to the list

I've been having weird video corruption similar to what others have posted. I also get the BSOD equivalent on the Mac. I'm going to be scheduling a meeting with a genius to see if anything can be done. I did have the problems with SL. It seemed better with Lion at first but seems to be getting worse now.

Something no one else has talked about. I run with two monitors most of the time. A few times a week when I move a window from one screen to another the window will be "blacked out." I don't know how to explain it. Check out the pictures.

I bet I have a faulty video processor but I've been hoping for a video driver update.

Here's a link to my photos showing some of my corruption.

Add me to the list! Same problem on my 320m 13 inch pro. Glad to see this thread I thought my logic board was going bad!!!

exact same thing here

The same thing is happening to my 2011 Macbook Air. I thought it was a flash issue or virus at first, but the computer is clean of viruses and I have the latest flash player.

I don't know if this is a software problem, as I have the same issue, but am on Snow Leopard (10.6.8). I have a 15" Early 2011 15" MBP. The screen (main panel) freezes, and then often flashes blue afterwards.

Often, it will stay blue and I have to do a hard reset. I took it to Apple but the tests showed nothing so they did nothing. Not entirely happy - I can't seem to catch a photo when it happens and when I try to get a camera recording the screen, it doesn't happen :(

If its a 15" then it's not the 320m, so not the same problem. The 320m Lion problem is a software problem, yours sounds like a hardware problem.

I thought so to, that's why I thought maybe there was something wrong with the graphics cards in question, or perhaps something else that is common among all these devices.

If it is hardware related, I hope Apple eventually acknowledge it and fix it! Does anyone know how they would fix it btw (new graphics card, new something else, repair?)?

The 320m problem will be fixed eventually by a software update. You're problem would likely require a motherboard replacement if it is a GPU issue.

I started having this too on my mid-2010 macbook pro. Its a known problem and it is a hardware problem with the GPU, no software update will fix it if you have the BSOD. I took mine in today, there is a very rare test that the Genius will do for this specific problem that will test the GPU and when having this problem the test comes back in a big "FAILED" and reccomends a Logic Board replacement, which they will do for free if its within two years of your original purchase date. (its called a VST or something test.)

Others have reported that they have had the problem with multiple new boards, meaning that they have not done anything to replace the faulty hardware, like the same problem with the 2007 Macbook Pro, its all a crap shoot how the new one will work as it could happen again.

This problem got worse with Lion, originally for me it would only happen when on Snow Leopard when hooking into an external monitor. After upgrading to Lion, it happened all the time and i could really force it by cranking Photoshop GPU settings in Advance prefs to high and just zooming in on a graphic.

If you have your board replace a few times some have reported as well that eventually they will just upgrade you to a comparable newer machine. As mine is just a company laptop i really just hope its fixed for good at its current state, although i wouldnt mind if it was my personal to be upgraded to a late 2011 MBP.

Hi everyone,

In the last couple days, Ive noticed some occasional glitching on my display. It lasts about a second, and has been happening 1-2 times per day. It is not in a consisten location. I managed to catch a screenshot of what it looks like (with my fantasy baseball league, lol). The glitching I have seen is on my external display- Dell U2410. It doest't seem to be related to the panel though.

Here are my system specs:

MacBook Pro, 13" Mid 2010
2.4 Ghz Core 2 Duo
8GB 1067Mhz DDR3 Ram
NVIDIA 320m 256MB Graphics Card
240GB OCZ Vertex 2 Limited Edition SSD

ANY help on this would be appreciated. Is it a graphics card issue? I am under AppleCare until September, and might buy the extension if it looks like I have a flaky card.

Thank you!!

Same problem here, but just after applying 10.7.4. It happens under Chrome AFAIK
