I just had my logic board replaced for the second time in a month due to this issue, we'll see if it's actually fixed this time.

Here's some screen shots of when it would happen.

I hate to bring this topic up again but... has anyone found any fix for this besides downgrading to SL?

I'm looking forward to buy a new laptop soon and would like to sell old one but feel bad selling with this problem (even though it's covered by apple care). I'm going to be selling through ebay and I may end up getting bad feedback if problem appears just after selling it...

Just an update on my situation... brought in my 2010 Mac mini, had the logic board replaced and still had graphical glitches/artifacts. Brought it in again yesterday and they said they would try to replicate the issue. The Genius mentioned that it could be caused by the RAM. Is that really a possible cause? I did have 8 GB of Crucial RAM installed. I've always been under the impression that RAM either works or it doesn't and I don't see how system RAM could effect the GPU since the GPU has its own RAM. Does anyone else here have third-party RAM?

The 320m shares system RAM, it doesn't have its own RAM.

I'm having this problem too, mainly when using chrome,
only had the problem since using Lion.
I hate lion, i think it's the worst release apple have done. If ML doesn't fix this graphic glitching issue then i'll end up going back to snow leopard.

The fact Apple hasn't fixed this problem already is appalling

Well, here's the latest update. I brought my Mac mini in AGAIN because it exhibited the same issue even with a new logic board. They initially attempted to blame it on Chrome, and I explained to them that it wasn't Chrome because I had seen the issue in Safari and iTunes. The Geniuses ran tests and were able to reproduce the issue. They called me this morning and said the would do a clean install of Lion and see if the issue persisted. They then called me again saying that after a new install of Lion they got the same issue in Safari. They then told me that they would replace the Mac mini with a brand new 2011 model and include a USB SuperDrive since the 2011 models do not have one. I went to the Apple store to pick it up and they gave me the unit and I asked them which model it was. They were going to give me the 2.3 i5, 2 GB, and Intel integrated graphics. I told them that the graphics card in that model was not comparable and benchmarks had shown that the integrated Intel graphics are not as good as what I had in the 2010 model (surprise, surprise). I explained to them that Intel's integrated graphics have always had less performace than a discreet GPU by Nvidia or AMD. They wanted to see what I read, so I pulled up this article which clearly shows the benchmarks and goes on to say...

Graphics test results were a bit surprising, however. The 2.3GHz Core i5 Mac mini, with its integrated Intel HD Graphics 3000, wasn’t as fast as the older 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo Mac mini and its integrated GeForce 320M graphics. The older mini was able to display 42 percent more frames per second in Call of Duty and 7.5 percent more frames per second in Cinebench OpenGL test. The 2.5GHz Core i5 Mac mini, with its discrete AMD Radeon HD 6630 graphics, showed a vast improvement; compared to the old 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo Mac mini, it was able to display nearly twice as many frames per second in Cinebench’s OpenGL test, and 53 percent more frames per second in our Call of Duty tests.

They then went in the back, came back and said they agreed and that they would give me the 2.5 i5, 4 GB, AMD Radeon HD 6630M 256 MB!! So that's (hopefully) the end of my issues. For those that are waiting for a software fix... it will never come. It's not a software issue, it's a GPU issue and many of the Nvidia 320m's have this problem. I would take it in immediately and get it replaced with a new model.

I have not seen this issue with my MacBook Pro but I've run across similar threads in the past and one thing that I've noticed is that this issue seems to occur with Safari and/or Chrome (and I think I have a recollection of iTunes being involved), both/all of which are based on WebKit. I may be wrong, but I don't think it's hardware or OS related, but more WebKit related. It's possible that it's some combination of WebKit, OS and hardware though. I primarily use Firefox and have never seen the issue personally.

I had this same problem on Lion as well (Never on snow leopard that I remember). However, I have been running Mountain Lion for the past week and I can say that I haven't seen this problem yet.

nope. I have a 6,2 MBP 2.4 15 inch with the nVidia 330m. In fact, my entire screen was fuzzy after the upgrade. It took 4 hard resets to get back to the desktop.

Like most of you I'm having problems with the nvidia 320m in my MBP with OS X Lion. I upgraded to Mountain Lion via the App Store but the problem persists.

I'm having slight glitches in Mail, this is a late 2011 MBP with Intel 3000 graphics only, ML installed. :s

This post is really old but people are still having problems with the graphics artifacts for the card. If you're using macOS, you can try to search an older driver from here for the OS. I have the same issue but I'm having it with Windows 10 and the latest graphics drivers. But the artifacts can be easily fixed by downloading the Nvidia 321.22 drivers from the website.
