Wow. Same here.

I'd like to contribute:

Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends~Coldplay

Black Holes and Revelations~Muse
The Cool~Lupe Fiasco
Food And Liquor~Lupe Fiasco

Off the top of my head...

Pearl Jam - Ten
Social Distortion - Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell
Coldplay - Viva La Vida
U2 - Achtung Baby
Green Day - Insomniac
Snow Patrol - Eyes Open
Johnny Cash - At Folsom Prison
The Smiths - The Queen is Dead
The Smiths - Strangeways Here We Come

Ahh...beat me to it! I was surprised not to see Pearl Jam's Ten on the first page. A few others that I consider noteworthy include:

- Dave Matthews Band: Under the Table and Dreaming
- Radiohead: Kid A
- Death Cab for Cutie: Plans

&

- Incubus: Morning View

Lost in Translation OST

Good recommendation. The best song on that soundtrack, in my opinion, is MBV - Sometimes, which originally comes from another outstanding album:

My Bloody Valentine - Loveless

One of the most outstanding albums of the past two decades actually, in my opinion.

Some other excellent albums that came to mind:
Neil Young - Decade
Sonic Youth - Daydream Nation
Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures
Neutral Milk Hotel - In the Aeroplane Over the Sea
Elliott Smith - Figure 8
Massive Attack - Mezzanine
Sigur Ros - Agaetis Byrjun
Godspeed You! Black Emperor - F#A#infinity
Brian Eno - Another Green World
David Bowie - Space Oddity
The Harder They Come OST

edit -- agreed on The Bends being a noteworthy album, as well. I've been shunned for calling it Radiohead's best album to date.

edit #2 -- Clint Mansell's soundtrack for The Fountain is another excellent album, good call on that one.

Recommend albums that you can listen straight through without skipping a track.

I'll add:

Forever Changes - Love
Lost in Translation OST
The La's - The La's

And I've recently been listening to these two in their entirety:

Jagged Little Pill - Alanis Morissette
How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb - U2

I'm delighted to see one of my own personal favourites here - Arthur Lee's (ie Love's ) wonderful album "Forever Changes"; one of my all time favourites and terrific for listening to from start to finish.

Likewise, Melrose has also mentioned Pink Martini, another of my favourites. I love Hang On Little Tomato, but listen to Symapthique from start to finish as well; it's a great album. I'm with Melrose on Pink Floyd, Enya and Enigma too (Cross of Changes is an amazing album, listen to that straight through). A recent favourite of mine is Pepe and the Bottle Blondes - Late Night Betty, a lovely album from start to finish. Go listen, sheer bliss.

Cheers

Wow.... I guess I've got some good albums.....

It doesn't surprise me though. I'm very much an album kind of music consumer. I really never (maybe once or twice) have bought a single song.

Notorious BIG - Ready To Die
Nas - Illmatic
Snoop Dogg - Doggystyle
2pac - Me Against the World
(would almost suggest 2pac - All Eyez on Me but there are like 2 or 3 songs on disc 1 that I don't care too much for)

Offspring - Americana
My Chemical Romance - The Black Parade
Sublime - Selftitled

Some good albums listed.....

Depeche Mode - Violator
Smashing Pumpkins - Adore

There's probably more, but these are the ones that are always sync'd and always listened to whole....

A lot of good stuff has been mentioned so far.

+1 to:

Enigma - "MCMXC A.D."
Weezer - "Weezer" (The Blue Album)

Beastie Boys - "Licensed to ill"

Some I would add:
The Black Crowes - "Shake Your Money Maker"
Run D.M.C. - "Raising Hell"
Tom Petty - "Full Moon Fever"

That's all I can think of for now. :)

My post was awesome from start to finish, but you must have disagreed, since you didn't make it all the way through. ;)

Haha no I agree with most all of the albums you listed. I don't know how I saw past your inclusion of PJ's Ten

I listen to the majority of my albums from start to finish so its a little difficult for me to recommend any one over another but I'll try.

My vote is for
dredg - El Cielo

It is a progressive rock album that I feel needs to be heard in its entirety to fully appreciate.

They are, without a doubt, my favorite band.
