I ordered for home delivery back on 6/10. Just called FedEx, they told me that Apple called and set up the shipping label stuff, but never ordered a pickup, so there's no way I'm getting an iPhone tomorrow. I'm leaving for a trip on Saturday.. Thanks apple, good stuff!

Anyone else in the same boat?

AT&T Customers who ordered through Business channels are also not getting their phones on time.

Mine literally changed within the last 5 min from "Shipment info sent to FedEx" to "Left FedEx Origin Facility"....there is hope yet!

Again - this shows the flaws of the FedEx tracking information. If they don't scan the box, it doesn't show up in the system.

After waiting 20 minutes on hold for Apple, the dumbass told me that his system says it was shipped today and is going to be delivered tomorrow (he had to look at the FedEx tracking number to tell me that) and then FedEx told me the same **** I can see on my screen...

You'll get your phone tomorrow .. check out how quick FedEx turned around a different overnight shipped Apple order of mine -- just earlier this week ...

Jeez - that's pretty quick. You've put reassurance into all of us! :D

And that's not even the best story -- back when I bought my first high dollar Apple product in 2004 -- a 17" Powerbook G4 (that's still alive and kicking!!) -- FedEx delivered that one in the middle of a tropical storm!! I was impressed.

:( I really hope it comes tomorrow!

Have you tried calling FedEx and using their automated phone tracking system? My status is still "Shipment Information Sent to FedEx" when I track on Fedex.com. But, when I call the status is "The electronic pickup request was received Thursday, June 18 at 9:01 AM."

fedex says we won't get it, apple does... I think we have to trust fedex here, I mean, the phone is in their hands now..

Honestly, if I don't get it tomorrow this will probably be the worst experience i've had buying things online.. I've never had something just flat out not ship.

They didn't specifically tell me I wouldn't get it, but it was still on schedule for delivery tomorrow. Apple also told me the same thing, and at this point I think it's still possible we'll get it by tomorrow.

Did they guarantee you delivery on June 19?

I wouldn't believe FedEx for a moment. A couple years ago for my first generation iPhone I called them and I was told I would not receive my phone on the date (it was a Saturday) on the tracking page. I was disappointed, but went out to lunch with some friends. Low and behold, I get home, and there is a sticker on my door saying I missed a delivery. My friend and I spent about an hour tracking down the FedEx guy in my neighborhood.

Moral of the story...FedEx CSR's know as much as the computer tells them. As I just said, I called the automated line and was told pickup information had been received. Also, remember if you're on the West Coast, we're 2 hours behind. That means the phone will likely be on a late, late night flight. It will probably be loaded onto a truck around 7am - 9am and arrive at your house before 3pm or 4:30pm, depending if you're a business or a residence. And lastly, even though the people on the ground are supposed to scan each package, they might not especially with the volume tonight.

Apple is a reputable company and they've always come through. No reason to believe they won't this time. And if they don't come through, they will compensate you for they're shortcomings.

According to UPS, my Phone is still in Alaska. Apparently, Apple knows this and emailed me yesterday with the following message:

To Our Valued Apple Customer:

Thank you for your recent order with Apple.

Our records indicate that your iPhone 3G S pre-order has shipped.

Our carrier's website may have displayed an incorrect delivery
date for your order. However, we expect your iPhone order to be
delivered on time on June 19, 2009.

Let's see who turns out to be the big liar...

Also, I don't buy the claim that Apple "forgot" to send a pickup request. I'm sure Apple has been ready for this for a long time and either has set daily pickup times or sent the request for pickup when they made the labels.

And even if they did "forget," I'm sure they quickly realized their mistake and got in touch with FedEx. Apple is a big enough customer for FedEx to say..."ok, we'll be picking this stuff up right away." Especially as this is all going out of Memphis.

The fact of the matter is this, Apple has done pre-orders hundreds of times. With iPods, any new software, and now the iPhone. They've been around the block and so has FedEx. They know what they're doing so there's really no need to second guess your phone's delivery date.
