Personally, I don't use Voice Control. I mean, it's cool. But I'd rather go through and select my own songs and stuff...half the time the phone thinks I'm saying something else.

I've never used it either. Don't see the need for it, unless someone wants a quick time check, or number dialed.

You do know that you can press on the button of your remote to make it play/pause and skip to the next/previous songs, right?

That way you don't have to wait for the phone to activate voice control...

Shh! 😱

...that kind of sensible talk would make this whole thread useless!

I can only imagine what fantastic foreign names from all corners of the globe you'd have in your address book skunk 🙂
It's the Xhosa names which seem to give most trouble: how do you transliterate a palatal click? 😛

On a different note, I'm surprised and disappointed that the old "tell me a joke" line doesn't seem to work on the iPhone...

Voice Control's equivalent on my old LG with Verizon was awesome, especially considering how awful the touch screen was and how much easier it was to just say "Call ______" rather than hope to touch the right buttons on the touch screen.

With that said, the Voice Control feature on the iPhone is awful, really. I said "Play Daisy" (an album by a band called Brand New) and it said "Playing songs by Easy-E" and Boyz in Da Hood started playing.

I then said "Play Brand New" and it said "Play songs on Never Blue" and Third Eye Blind's Never Let You Go came on.

No, I'm not trying to name drop bands. I actually thought the Easy-E thing was funny, to be honest. I'm just not impressed with the feature, especially considering the time it takes for me to hold the button and speak and let it respond, I could have pushed the button, slid to unlock, and found the artist I wanted nearly as quick.

No matter what song I tell it to play, from "Money, Money" by Bone thugs, Thug Love, by 2pac, Classico by Tenacious D.....it always plays the Beatles!

It has worked great for me while driving and using the stock apple headphones. I can place calls with good accuracy and it beats the touchscreen when driving.

I'm not liking the voice control feature. Half of the time it tries to make a phone call, when I asked it to play a song.
