Asterix was wonderful in the cartoons and the comics (read them in French).

Same goes for Lucky Luke, and Tintin (in French)

Of course I'd say that one of my lasting favourite Cartoon Characters is Dr. Snuggles.

I have to say that I have a newfound respect for Tintin since by trip to Brussels. They really dig him (for obvious reasons), and you certainly get to love him after spending an afternoon in the comic book museum.

The first cartoon in which I remember characters actually dying.

Which is also the first cartoon in which I remember painfully obvious racial stereotypes. I'm afraid I'm an anime fan myself, so it's going to be a close contest between Wolfwood of Trigun fame or Jerry. Also Duck Tales for the win.

I have basically that same picture of the Tintin cartoon. I think it's a law that you have to get pictures of as many of the cartoons on the sides of buildings as possible if you're in Brussels

I had a pic up of the Little Mermaid after my Disney comment (what, I was joking... seriously), but the source must have taken it down because it's not showing up anymore. I'd put up another one, but can't seem to find a good one where she's actually clothed. What is wrong with these people, she's a cartoon!

whow, I used to watch them, too. Had an illustrated book as well... I think they were living in some safe place, but there was this polluted outside world. Maybe that was just one of the illustrations... it has been a while
