looks really nice. i can't decide if i should get this one or not. I already have an Incase Slider, and i'm thinking the slider looks like it's a little sturdier. what do you think?

I have an Incase Slider too and I have tried the Griffin iClear in the Store. I would agree with you in saying that the Incase is more sturdy. I feel like if I dropped the Slider it wouldnt pop apart, but I feel as though the iClear would.

I actually did drop the Griffin last night on my tile floor. It didn't pop apart nor does it have a mark on it.

The open space is a non issue, after a week of use there is no marks on the phone where it is exposed and there is enough plastic to keep that part from touching ground in case of a fall.

The Slider does offer more protection, the Griffin IMO looks nicer by showing more of the phone and is slimmer. I'm sorry but seeing that Apple logo on the back is a nice touch. Though I don't doubt the Slider would hold up better for a major drop. After having both my choice is the Griffin IClear over the Slider. I've owned the gun metal and black matte slider. Both are very nice cases though.

Here you are, pics with this case on a white iPhone. Bear with the flashes, I forgot to turn it off lol

Does anyone have experiences with both Agent 18 iPhone 3G ClearShield and the Griffin Iclear? I use the Agent 18 now and it's very good, but a little bulky. How does the Griffin Iclear compare in bulkiness and protection?

Thanks in advance!

I haven't used them both but if you check out itsmemorphious he compares the two and says the Agent is a lot bulkier. Also I have used the iClear for a short time and I was surprised by how thin it was. Hope that helps.

Looks like the bezel is all scratched up there. Was it scratched up before the case or after?

If you were referring to the pics I posted, no they're not scratches on bezel, they're dust. My phone right now is still spankin new without scratches except for the bottomnear the dock which was my fault. I definitely recommend this case. So far after a month of usage it never scratched anything on my iPhone.

The Griffin iClear is badly designed with a large opening at the top that allows dust to get between the case and the phone. My 3g iPhone received a few small scratches before I realized this. I wouldn't recommend it.

i can't decide between this one or the neo.... any suggestions?

I got both haha :D

With regards to the large opening at the top, in contradictory to what the guy before me said, it is actually handy if you swap your sim cards often ;) besides there's no really dust-proof safe unless you lock it inside an air-tight case. I'm sorry to hear about your "small" scratches since mine doesn't have one.

but which one do you like better? which is thinner? how do they compare to the slider? sorry, too many questions.

Obviously one can't really prevent something from getting dusty but the point is it did scratch the iPhone. It must shift around inside the case enough for it to scratch. It has scratched the chrome bezel at the top and bottom of the phone and made small marks on the back. I've kept my iPhone in cases since it was taken out of the box and it had no visible scratches prior to using this case.

Here's the thing, I like Neo because it has that slick look, that silicon membrane which is as thin as a paper that protects the phone and the feel on the case itself. However after realizing I have to clean the iPhone regularly every week, I need a case that I can easily detach and re-attach on the phone, Neo wasn't that case.

I tried Slider, way way back when they first released the white (annoying-you-can't-get-it-off version) and that's why I don't want to try it again anymore even though I've heard they fixed them already.

I wanted a case that I can take out regularly so I could clean the phone, while still showing it's real aesthetics. I went with the PS Clear Air jacket but found out that I need more protection from unexpected falls - that's when I leaned over to the Neo. Then Neo still acquired dust between the I & H frame and gave me a hard time putting it on and off so I leaned to a newer snap-type clear case - Griffin iClear. I can't remember if iClear is thinner than the slider, but it is definitely thinner than the Neo (probably because of the membrane they offer) and so far I could easily snap this case in and out in case dust came inside because of the two large openings. Now if you don't like large openings on a case, you could go to Neo my best bet, before the slider.

Yes dust is unavoidable. I tested how snug this case is before I even fully placed it on my phone. When I locked it in I couldn't really hear any movements, not even a millimeter that's why I was really happy about this case. So far I don't know why yours moved, that's probably how you got the scratches. If you'll watch itsmemorphious (on youtube) his review on this case actually shows as well that the phone doesn't move inside the case, proven and tested based on my experience.

I accidentally dropped my iPhone after I washed my hands and I'm very lucky I had this case on. There were no scratches at the back or inside. The case never snapped open which was great. Good thing I had this case, highly recommended.

did you ever end up getting the iclear?

I had the Belkin Acrylic Case and I liked it more than any other case I had purchased. I stay away from anything Marware, and have yet to find a case similar to my former Belkin (v1 iPhone) case. I don't like the "frost-look" of the Griffin Iclear, so I'm probably not going to purchase one. I've got a Rocketfish BB clear case, but it's all scratched up, but protects my 3G W/iPhone, and it has a built-in screen protector that is pretty sensitive to the touch...

I have Griffin's iClear, as well as CapsuleNeo (somehow I couldn't let this case go because how it looks) and so far both cases have been amazing, they're my top 2 I should say.

The frost look at the back actually prevents (or should I say hides) the scratches on the case. Right now I don't even see any at the back of my iClear, so it does have a purpose ;) as I really don't want to see any scratch marks (unlike the PS Clear Air Jacket) at the back of my iPhone since it's white :D

I have this case and plan to get rid of it fast. The case has been damaging my chrome benzel around the phone and it's getting all scratched up. I would take it off while you can.

Sorry to hear about that. I think some people claim that this case scratches their chrome bezel, while on my side it hasn't. The pics I posted those are dust outside the case, not from the inside. My iPhone still looks pristine and I've been switching back & forth with iClear and Neo. So far no scratches, good protection.

Apart from being more expensive, how does this differ from the clear cases on ebay.

No idea, there's tons of cheap cases at eBay that you could buy for less than $5 but it's hard to search reviews from it.

I alternate between the Iclear, Slider and Neo, none of those cases have scratched my phone. Clean the F-IN sand out of your pockets maybe?

This case does not scratch the bezel.

Yeah, it does, for some people. If you haven't realized it by now, dude, many people have many problems with many aspects of the iPhone and its accessories that other people aren't affected by. Grow up.

That makes no sense. The Iphone is a standard size, the case is a standard size. If this case is scratching some peoples phones and not others, it tells me that some people are rough on their stuff. I put my phone in my pants pocket, on my desk and in my jacket pocket and I have no issues.

I agree that some people treat their phones differently, but don't neglect to consider the fact that some cases have manufacturing flaws that can certainly scratch the iphone--not all cases of the same brand are physically identical to one another.

This phone is in a pouch and has never been in a pocket. I clean it weekly, and it only gets removed from the case once a month to clean the case. The phone was put in that case straight from APPLE and it has been scatched to hell since. The case will scratch the phone. Give it time.

I also take care of my items and that is why I hate the case and will be getting a different one asap.
