Weird, mine showed up today, two days earlier than the tracking number said! I haven't opened it yet or anything, but it looks super nice in the packaging and looks to be amazing quality! I will post more info tonight after I test it and look at it more.

This case is awesome! Screen cover works pretty well, a tiny reduction in sensitivity but not enough to bother me. No oil slicks. Very solid quality case. Easy to remove and install. Looks awesome!!! Music is obviously slightly muffled but sounds fine. Only slight complaint I can see is that it may scratch easily...the case itself. It's a high gloss plastic. By far the best waterproof case! They were serious about the engineering and the user guide is awesome. Love it!

Has anyone tried this case with a screen protector still on the screen?

I want to leave mine on for when I switch between cases.

I got mine in the mail today. IMHO, it's kind of ugly, especially compared to the Atlas. I've done the water test. It's now in my pocket for a busy evening. I will post much more when I'm able to run it through its paces.

I think it looks awesome, just slightly bulky but feels very very strong. It is pretty glossy, but looks unique and I LOVE that you can see the phone through the case. (along with the seals/etc)

I want to not like this case, but I'm having no luck :). The sound, so far, is great! The screen response seems fine. I love the lack of camera dust collection present on so many other cases. This case is easy to open and close...not quite as easy as the Otterbox Armor, but much easier than the Incipio Atlas. Size is fairly similar to the Otterbox Defender. It's a little longer, but a little thinner. I wish it had a glass screen protector. I think it looks a bit on the cheap side. Again, I look forward to giving it a workout, but, so far I think this one is the best compromise of all waterproof cases so far. I 've tried all but the Obex.

This is good to hear. Maybe one company finally got it right.

Well, I have found that people on the other end cannot hear me well without the lightning port open. This is kind of annoying.

Weird, my few phone calls worked perfectly, and one of the callers is a very picky person who cannot stand when noises are on the other end or it is hard to hear, so he would be the one to point out any issues lol.

I find that after charging at night and when removing the charger, it helps alot to do the screen thing (where you slide your fingers down the screen to press the air out) before closing the door. Then the screen works perfect again and again. No pillowing once I do that. I think some air obviously enters when I open the lightning so its good to do that every time. This is the nature of a waterproof, completely sealed, air tight case. This is by far the best one yet.

Update on calls:
With the lightning port open, the person on the other end heard most of what I had to say. My voice cut out once. We also experimented with the port closed. There seemed to be no problems with this call. So, the problem seems to be intermittent. As for speakerphone, as per the directions, we allowed the conversation to continue for awhile, but the phone did not adjust itself. The caller heard themselves and thought I sounded very muffled regardless of whether the lightning port was open or not. More to come as I continue to make adjustments and put it through it's paces. I do have the hearing aid setting on right now due to feedback and proximity sensor issues with other cases. This may very well be why the phone did not adjust while on speaker. I am going to turn that off next and see how it functions. Stay tuned...
Since then, I have been on several more calls. In general, people have a difficult time hearing me with the lightning port open and/or closed. In addition, callers can hear themselves when I put them on speakerphone, even for an extended period of time. This is with the hearing impaired switch in the off position.
This is quite unfortunate, because the sound coming from both the earpiece and speaker is the best of all the waterproof cases. I primarily use the phone for business on the water, so I need people to be able to hear me, especially if the boat is running.

I just received my case and love it!! Just a word of warning - the Amazon Lightning cables do NOT fit with this case... I have spent all morning shaving down the cable :(

I have had no luck being able to get callers to hear me with this case on my phone. I've tried burping the case and trying anything else I could think of. Tech Support has been no help either. I am going to return it to Griffin and try another just to see if this one was a dud. Griffin Tech Support has been friendly and willing to work with me throughout this situation. I hope they get a handle on this because I think they are as close as any manufacturer to having the best waterproof case on the market.

Same here sending back my 2nd case right now. Got the first last Tuesday and they sent another today but doing the same thing. Very weird how one call works fine the next they can't hear me.

I believe they messed up the noise cancelation mic on the back of the phone, near the camera. If it is covered or resonates inside the case it makes a lot of trouble, same as Lifeproof case.

Go to Settings/General/Accessibility and turn on Hearing Aid Mode. This should eliminate the problem you describe.

For those of you having problems with the intermittent speech where the person can hear you and then they cant hear you try the following. I noticed that the delay, where no one is able to hear what you're saying only happens after doing the water test. Locate the acoustic membrane on the bottom left hand side when looking on the inside of the case. You'll need to blow through that hole over and over and over again until it flushes out all the water that's built up in the membrane. After trying and trying to make it work, I blew into that acoustic membrane for a minute straight and now my phone is working perfectly. Sounds kind of disgusting, but to be honest, the same needs to be done with the LP. Good luck. Last thing, do not, I repeat, do not clean the inside front backing in this case!!! It's got some kind of tacky substance on it that scratches and blurs easy. You will never be able to make it clear again if you mess w/ it!

I've tried everything still they can't hear me. Fixing to contact catalyst and ask for my money back.

Did you water test the case? If you did, the acoustic membrane on the bottom is definitely clogged. Again, no one could hear me after I did my water test. With a bit of effort, I was able to blow clean the membrane and I feel I now have the best case on the market. I have all the waterproof cases and this one is CLEARLY the best. No problems at all and the clearest LOUDEST case by far. The sound is not much lower than the phone w/ no case at all... I am thrilled!

I would assume so been trying to deal with it for 3 days after water test. I've blowed and dried it as much as possible. I've had to use Bluetooth earpiece just so someone can hear me. And this is the 3rd replacement they sent me.

Well, I'm glad someone is thrilled and it certainly isn't me! I am sending mine back. Hopefully, the replacement case will be better. If folks on the other end could hear me, I would agree with you...so far, it's not the case...ok, pun intended...

I've been using this case for a few days now and love it! LONG time LifeProof user, tried the Atlas case which went back 2 days later due to sound issues & a horrible glare issue when using the flash on their white case.
So far I've had zero sound issues and am really liking the case.

Horrible name. They already have a Survivor case. Saying this is Survivor + Catalyst makes people think it's something you can add to a Survivor to make waterproof.

Ok here's my take on the Griffin Survivor+Catalyst case:
Everything RoofMonkey911 said about the case is right. It's actually an awesome case. And is pretty flawless. Everything works as it should with no hiccups.

Pros:
1. Clear case to see the beauty of the phone and if its shut properly.
2. No sound issues whatsoever, tested with wife with both regular calls and speakerphone, both work without any issues like tunneling or echo.
3. Mute toggle works as it should as well as the charge port door and headphone bung.
4. No newtons rings, waves, air pocket, whatever you wanna call it on the screen. It actually does feel like your touching just the phones screen. Plus if you look at the screen with it shut off you can see like a coating they put on the inside screen, which is probably why there's no rainbow effect.

Cons:
1. This beast is thick, thicker than the LifeProof and Atlas case. Prob the first thing I noticed when I put it on. I mean its not bulky to the point where it's a hindrance but it is noticeable when you hold it.
2. Clear acrylic looks like it'll scratch like a SOB if I put it in my pocket with pens or coins.
3. Case is Slippery when wet or whenever, due to the fact that its all plastic all around the case, they should've put rubber or grip stick on the sides to help with that issue.
4. NO GLASS SCREEN PROTECTOR. Again not really a fault, cause the screen works flawlessly. Plus I'm guessing the glass screen on the Atlas case was probably the reason for all the sound issues cause its not pliable like plastic and sound gets trapped in the case and bounces around. But who knows........

Anyways, overall I give it an A. Awesome case with and awesome price tag.

I love the case. My only concern is scratching the front case. I resolved that by applying a screen protector (Zagg is my preference) to the cases screen protector. Works great. Had. To trim it a little first to size. I have a cutting board so it was easy enough. I know the rest of the case will get scuffs, but then the all do.
