I abandoned Winn Dixie entirely because they make you use that stupid card to "save money". "Your pork chop is $8! But if you have this card, it's $6".

Publix just charges you what it says.

I hope that encourages Publix to add Apple Pay too. Having WD on board is great!

I am disappointed that Home Depot doesn't yet have Apple Pay working.

I would really like to not use cards at HD any more but that seems not to be possible. Oh - and their chip-card readers are not yet functional. They are present in the POS device but don't work.

Funny - I was happily surprised when it worked for me at a Home Depot in Maryland a couple days ago. The reaction of the cashier was priceless "oh my God - that's so cool!"

I wonder if HD and some other retailers have allowed decentralized decisions by store managers (doubt it), or why there is inconsistency. Hope I didn't visit a store that 'fell through the cracks' and they will be disabling it!

I was told by a manager at HD that their info on it had said it would be working "by the end of the month". It would explain why it is working in some stores, and with some cards (Amex is working, MC is failing).

My store is listed in the Mastercard Nearby app - but it failed with MC last week.

For some reason I thought Home Depot was an official Apple Pay store, but it looks like it isn't. Oh well, as long as it works.

KROGER are you LISTENING?

For the love of christ man.... please Kroger / Ralphs / Food-4-Less / etc (who ever all Kroger has swallowed) jump on the Apple Pay Train PLEASE!!!!!!!!! If Kroger signs on I'm good... Gas at Texaco / Chevron, Food at Kroger....attempting to main stream it. Anyone heard updates on the Loyalty Program? Was that just a rumor of it being released before the holidays? >.<

I pretty much only go to Wegmans now after they jumped on the Apple Pay bandwagon. Worth every penny going there... even if it is 20 minutes away. So much better than Stop N Shop, Shaws, etc

Google is just ending an API for some web based forms of Google wallet transactions. That isnt about the Apple Pay analogue. Typical Google though. Throw a heap of ideas around but don't support them, then lose interest and abandon stuff. Attention deficit syndrome in a mega company.

I hope Apple enables Apple Pay in Australia before Christmas. It would just work nearly everywhere.

Question: Are any vendors that support Apple Pay limiting the size of the transaction? I ask because in Australia if you just use tap to pay the limit is usually $100. But tap to pay only requires possession of a chipped credit card. There is no pin verification. To go over $100 you need to insert the credit card and use a pin.

Keep Them Coming

This is a surprise - I wasn't expecting grocery stores to get onboard with this so quickly. I wonder when Market Basket, Hannaford, or Shaws will start accepting :apple:Pay.

Meijers is part of the CurrentC consortium (for now) and they have turned it on. I love that Whole Foods is on but would like Safeway and King-Soopers/Kroger to get on board.

Was able to register and use a Suntrust debit card with ApplePay. Their site still says 'coming soon' so I suspect they'll be announcing something soon.

Apple is projected to take over 20 percent of payments by 2019. That would be a nice little niche revenue stream.

I tired it this past weekend in 3 places.
1) Banana Republic. They had the NFC readers, it did nothing. I believe they are with CurrenC. :(

2) Target, did nothing

3) BJ's. Came up on my phone, I didn't have to do anything. Touch ID worked, said DONE with green check box. Then the amount said -- Did not go thru. Tried 2 times. Both times my phone shows amount as -- Had to use my credit card the old fashioned way. :(

Yeah, their prices are a bit misleading, until you look closer. I don't mind the card, since I guess I'm getting points built up that go towards things.

BJs takes credit cards? :D

Ah - I hadn't thought about support varying by credit card. I used Amex...

No, there is no limit. That apparently is a difference in how contactless is processed in various countries. Since it is a credit card with a limit, or a debit card checking your bank account balance - you can shop your heart away.

All transactions have to be done with "online" terminals.

Target in-store is CurrentC.

Kroger is the closest grocery to me. I'm pretty sure that's where my Amex card got compromised. I wish they'd jump on the Apple Pay bandwagon.

My 82-year old mother, and younger sister, switched to Meijer from the much closer Kroger because of Apple Pay.

They are a little miffed at Costco because it hasn't (yet?) stepped into the apple pay future...

Grocery Stores and Apple Pay

Grocery stores are suprisingly ahead of the curve. In Minnesota, Cub Foods was allowing Apple Pay from Day 1. They didnt advertise anything though.

A Target store employee said that they will enable it by December. Not sure.

Bet your card is a MasterCard.

Works fine here with Amex or Visa based cards. It's something odd with HD and MasterCard.

I've used it successfully a few times now, easy peasy.
