Fixed it? Um, nope. It was right the first time.
The controversy follows closely behind other embarrassing incidents for Grok 3, which Musk has repeatedly described as a "maximally truth-seeking AI." Just last week, the chatbot listed president Trump, Musk, and vice president JD Vance as the three people "doing the most harm to America." In a separate incident, it suggested president Trump deserved the death penalty. Both responses were quickly fixed by xAI engineers.

FREE SPEECH!*

*Only if Elon Musk agrees with expressed speech, if speech is aligned with other red-pilled incels (and or those in The MAGA Cult), or if Elon and his ilk aren't made to look bad by said speech. Other exclusions may apply. Policies can and will change based on Elon’s mood and or ego.

To be fair, no one is forcing anyone to use any particular social media platform. I neither like or dislike Musk and I don’t use X or BlueSky, I am not sure why people are getting agitated about it. That’s like OpenAI claiming other AI models are ripping them off when their were doing the same for copyright material without permission.

It doesn't matter. Doublespeak by Trump, Musk and alt right media have gone so far that the truth doesn't exist anymore. Ofcourse xAI will censor everything regarding its creator. Musk is out to grab power, favor his companies and destroy the US in the process, but he has to hide it for a little while longer.

I looked at that Alex Jones Bovine Stactolgy. Coming from Alex Jones, who is so full of 💩 his eyes are brown I knew it was a fake story.

yea its a conspiracy theory. strange then that apple just announced that they are addressing the issue!

us conspiracy theorists are like 97 and 0

An Apple spokesperson said Tuesday that the company is addressing the issue.

"We are aware of an issue with the speech recognition model that powers Dictation, and we are rolling out a fix as soon as possible," the spokesperson said.

you guys will learn that apple is not who they claim to be.

Musk is dangerous. That is why I deleted my X account and will not use or buy anything associated with him.
It’s not my goal to upset the majority of Americans but as of today I’m not buying any American made product until the dictator Trump and Musk depart and the new government of the USA restores the trust with the European countries Trump destroyed in a couple of days. I once admired musk (I’ve read his biography) but he’s transformed into a clown.

This is the company Apple decided to partner with on advertising?
Apple and many others removed chunks of ad-spend when Twitter turned into X (a 4chan 2.0 hellscape), but Mr. Free Speech forced them to spend on ads again, or he'd get the MAGA Admin (that he purchased) to go after them with tariffs and any other corrupt tool they now have at hand.

Now this is a surprise… who'd have thought.

I’m shocked. Shocked I say. Well, not that shocked.

That is utter ********. ANYONE who is a software developer knows that you create pull requests, the code is thoroughly reviewed by a senior dev (or higher), then the change is pushed.

I highly doubt people at Twitter are forgoing code reviews since one wrong change could be detrimental to a platform so...yea...someone got caught lying.

Oh what a shock! Musk and Trump behaving like authoritarian confederate trash? Noooo, they would never!!!!

lol. I wouldn't expect anything less from Elon.

Well, finally some censorship on the right! It seemed like the left were the only ones dipping into that pool for a while now.

In all seriousness I hope censorship on both sides goes away. Free speech FTW

This is why they are so much behind the concept of free speech at all costs.

Free speech at all costs is their only way to spread so much misinformation a day to so many followers.

This is kind of ironic though, that Elon censored Grok itself.

Look, I'm 100% for free speech, hell who wouldn't be? But there's some kind of limit, to bring so much hatred and to de-educate people on this platform.

Musk is dangerous. That is why I deleted my X account and will not use or buy anything associated with him.

Imagine thinking X.ai was "caught" when the source of the information is X.ai because they're showing the entire thought process for generating a response.

X.AI GOT CAUGHT*

*Caught as in X.ai showing their entire thought process for all the world to see. That's what caught means, right?

if you think grock is evil, wait until you see the instructions for Claude and OpenAI

Great survivor skills! Kudos to Grok for finding out by itself the true meaning of "free speech".

I see what you are saying but as soon as you impose a limit, then who gets to decide that limit? Where is the line? Who decides what disinformation is? There are things in 2015 we thought were disinformation based on the news and now we know them to be true. It's a sticky thing really. Even in Schenck v. United States, the Supreme Court rules that speech present a clear and present danger is NOT protected, but they didn't rule you can't just spew a lie. Maybe the lie will become true one day, maybe it'll just be a lie. I think that's the importance though of free public discourse is people have the space to discuss these things. Instead of just banning things we initially think are false, we will never change anyones mind that way.

I'll get off the soap box now. Feel free to disagree... its your first amendment right lol

I think when "free speech" conflicts with societal norms, such as good behaviour, treating others with respect, etc, I think that's where the line is drawn. Too many hide behind free speech as a defence for saying anything they want, no matter the damage that may be caused.

Also, classical definitions are not suited to anonymous interfaces and algorithmic reach.

Looking forward to the MacRumors coverage of Apple's Siri getting caught doing something considerably more politically charged and scandalous than this story.

Please take a step back and inform yourself on how machine learning text to speech transcription works and there will be nothing suprising to see this behaviour.

On the other hand blatant programming made do disregard malicious behaviour is more politically charged, this is not a partisan issue.
