What doesn't look right to me is the gap around the edge. It makes the wood look like a cheap decal. I think it would look classier if the wood was edge-to-edge across the entire aluminum cover.

Since to be edge-to-edge, it would have to be formed to match the curve of the edges, I'm not sure I have a problem with that. But I'd prefer that the edges were tapered at least, to blend better into that curve; OTOH, they'd still have to have a minimum thinness, so as not to chip too easily.

Still, it would probably serve to prevent scratches and dings, if nothing else; and if it removes easily enough and doesn't cost too much compared to other alternatives of similar function, it's not horrible.

Blatant ad.

Even if it is an ad, who cares? Think of it as cherry picked ads that we might find interesting. I think this was put here because bamboo backs are rather unusual, so it's worth mentioning.

Have you seen their iPhone cases?

My son-in-law has one of Gove's bamboo iPhone cases and it is really quite stunning. Beautiful, in fact. I'd consider getting one myself if I liked cases on the iPhone at all. I suspect this back might be much nicer in person than it looks in JPG.

i'm going to go against the grain here - i really like it!

I like things that are organic in feel - i like natural leather bags, wooden objects in place of plastics - that sort of thing.

oddly i like things which are hi-tech, but made to look traditional, crafted even. I could see having one of these on my 13" MBP, a matching one on my iPad and iPhone - i think they would look really good, to my eye, it adds to the design. Would look nice in a natural leather (maybe mulberry) bag.

happy to take criticism, no attacks please.

Yeah uh "Arn"(If that is your real name), I dont know who the heck you think you are...but you shouldn't try to sound authoritative until you've got some more posts under your belt. Thanks

And so kids, that is how life on the macrumors website ended for toddybody. ;)

Reminds me of the old attachable Dell laptop lids that also came in bamboo like patterns - but they were hideous. So I don't think these look very good either. But if someone likes it, that's fine then.
