Wow! Must be parallel universe. You know, anyone can easily use advanced search on this site to revisit past threads and see what "we" thought of Nest (and Beats) prior to their acquisitions. Apple rolled back to 4.3.1
I deleted the app from my phone, then went to the App Store, and downloaded it again and noticed that the version there is 4.3.1, not 4.4.
So one does not need to rely on connecting to iTunes to roll back

No you missed my point. this is not software problem. this is a ploy to get nest users to move to andriod.
I guess I was not clear since you are the second to comment in this way. No, I meant it as the code is broken accidently on purpose to get people to move to Android.
Nest crashes immediately on iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, iPad Air, all running 8.1. Thank goodness, I was able to bring temp up remotely in cabin before upgrading app so it'll be warm when we get up there this evening.
Dropcam has been down for hours as well.

Mine works fine, however my actual nest has not updated to the latest firmware. Is that what is causing the problem?

They are rolling out the 4.3 firmware for the Nest thermostat over the next week so they had to of known that most people didn't have the update yet on their thermostat. This is probably just some bug with the app itself like we have seen with other apps that crash when launched.

Hopefully the fix comes quickly. People need to calm down with the Nest/Google trash, every company makes software mistakes and has to patch. **** happens, it's not a big deal.

FWIW, mine is working fine on an IPhone 5.
It's laughable, all the predictable lemmings who have don't own a Nest, who feel the need to bash it because it's affiliated with a big company that's not "cool" to like.
The Nest thermostat is an extremely polished piece of technology that does something relatively simple, and is the future of home automation. I don't know why it's perceived as evil because they've been gobbled up by big business. Those people are simply uninformed and lack the real-world experience with this fine product.
