You haven't played an iPhone or a Touch have you? :) If you need a phone, or a top notch personal media device, or both, you can't go wrong with Apple's wonderful portables... BUT for gaming... BLAH!! Trust me, it's not that good, but maybe you only like "casual" games. The only game I play daily is Sol Free. I bought a game called Blue Attack which is good, but it would be better with an actual d-pad.

Always thought the handheld market was more or less free from graphic whores  these things only have 2-3" displays!

Get Zombieville USA. It's $1 and a fun arcade style cartoony zombie killer. It just got patched to be a lot more stable etc.

... not since the PSP came to town ...

Not really. Sega had a comparatively powerful device to rival the GB but people still didn't care. It has never been about graphics in the handheld market, as I said - these machines only have tiny screens! Realistic graphic immersion is cast aside.

This got a surprisingly high score for a handheld game over at IGN.

It looks pretty cool actually, I like the cartoony art style, I like satirical GTA, GTA IV, while still comical, took itself too serious for it's own good, GTA should feel like an arcade game with an involving story and seamless gameplay, GTA IV with its dark city design, dark characters, dark story and "realistic" gameplay combined with the chuggy framerate and horrible graphics make for a experience that's really unlike GTA III/VC/SA.

I think I've said before but I hope this means that a PSP version of GTA San Andreas is still on the cards. Whilst I like the look of this game and yey, high scores. It's still not San Andreas

Oh and... Do want!

GTA CW is way more arcady than GTA4. The rampages are back, the weapons are crazy, and the Rhino is in it! I should warn, there is some lag in cop chases.

Waiting for play.com to post my copy... Hurry up!

Oh and I do wish that rampages were still called Kill Frenzy

Any sign of the Hare Krishnas at all?

Just got to play a bit over lunch and it is quite well done. Despite the scores I was still skeptical of how it would work and so far it is going nicely. Cool feel and nice use of the hardware!

It is too bad that I am lousy at these things ... just like the PSP game I find myself breezing some missions and taking multiple passes to get by others ... heck, it took me 4 tries to pass the first mission!

This is the first GTA game I've actually sat down and played since the 2D originals and I'm really enjoying it. I think they've made very good use of the touch screen for things like stealing cars, making Molotov Cocktails and assembling your sniper rifle.

I'm also sat on an absolute ton of weed and acid if anyone wants any

:apple:

I said "goodbye productivity" and bought a copy. Please hurry, Play. Is it mainly controlled with the D-pad?

Yes it's mainly the D-pad for driving and moving about but there is a lot of stylus stuff too. I think it's pretty well implemented. I've been playing when sitting down/in bed and I have tended to just let the stylus lie next to me and pick it up when required. It's worked pretty well so far. I'm not sure if you could hold it and play with the D-Pad too as it might get in the way.

It's a great game, I hope I don't lose my place in Chrono trigger as it might be a while before I play it again!

I got it on release day and love it to pieces. Give it a couple of hours of play everyday. So much to do, so much depth, and so much detail. I'm only about 20% through as I struggle to complete a mission without getting side-tracked. As per all Rockstar games it looks wonderful and the dialogue is incredibly well written. Up there with my favorite DS game. Will have to see how it lasts longevity-wise....:).

I'm in the same situation AND STILL have The World Ends With You to finish (so far my favourite DS game).

PS, I employ the 'stylus in mouth' method when using the d-pad ;)

Give it a couple of hours of play everyday

TWO HOURS A DAY!? Maybe this was a bad idea.

Played this again last night..... probably my favorite game on the ds.

I love dealing drugs on it as much as doing the missions....

PS. for UK people, www.play.com are seeling this for £9.99

Thanks for the link, just ordered myself a copy. I wasn't going to bother with this until I finished GTAIV on the 360 but there's no way I'm missing out if its just a tenner. Should be good. Is it good?

Its fantastic

The depth and scope for, not only a ds game, but any game in general is amazing.

Theres more to do in chinatown wars than gta 4.

Buy properties, street races, rampages, drug dealing (which, ironocally, is really addictive), the story missions are the most varied ive seen in a gta game, scratch cards, making molitov cocktails at the petrol station, hot wiring cars, the bottom half of the screen is almost like a real PDA, emails, GPS, online amunation shopping, night/day cycle, weather effects...... etc etc..... I could really go on all day

Best £9.99 youve spent my friend
