Right now I'm trying to manipulate the market by currently buying into FlyUS and blowing up the competition.

Are you supposed to be able to reply when you check an email on your phone? There is a little arrow that looks like a reply icon under the message, but I can't get to it.

Some you can, some you can't. The ones with a plus symbol on the bottom are ones you can reply to.

Not yet, I was able to make a character (looked just like David Bowie :)) but it cut me off when trying to start to the first race. I loaded it back up and my character was deleted!

There are some reports of online accounts being lost, I'm just gonna wait until Rockstar releases the next patch (should be today).
 
I'm not enjoying the online part as much as I thought I would. It's very hands-off (good), but the missions are so boring. Playing with some friends tonight so hopefully my opinion changes... I really want to like it!

i hear ya on that.

i started 'tummy sticks' crew...really don't know what that does though.
 
I absolutely love the game so far. I've only completed 20% of main story so far. When time permits though I try to log some hours on GTA. Is online pleasing for you all? I have yet to try it want to beat main storyline first.

I don't know what the point is. I mean, I imagine you have to make money and you're told a few ways how to do it. But it's near impossible to play properly and do heists since there's always a random person joining that ruins it. And you can't just go in there to have fun because stolen cars attract cops, and there are no decent cars unless you buy them.

It's just completely contrasting to the main game, where everything is fun and unlimited.

I mostly do races, those are fun. I guess if you build up a group of trusted friends then heists would be fun too.
 
So now that everyone's played it for a few weeks...how good is it really? Did they address all the criticism of IV? Do the cars handle better, are they actually fun to drive this time? How is the map? Is there a justification for it being that large? For example, the map in "Just Cause 2" was huge, but ultimately, it was rather pointless, cause regarding things to do, it was just the same elements repeated over and over again. Are the side missions / minigames fun? Does your cell phone keep ringing to keep your cousin happy?

How is the map? Is there a justification for it being that large? The city part is just the right size. The country-side section is another beast entirely and the size suits it - it's big enough to get lost in or drive a car over mountains. I was worried the map was too small prior to launch but it's perfect

There's a lot more life in this map. There are fixed event locations like the minigames, but also random police chases with NPCs, random theft/help events, reckless drivers. It feels more alive than any other open world game.

Are the side missions / minigames fun? Surprisingly yes, I usually avoid these in openworld games but I find myself doing them because they're so accessible and replayable.

Does your cell phone keep ringing to keep your cousin happy? You get the occasional side mission pop up, but they're mini missions like driving someone to a location. It's all very quick.

I love going "hiking" with cars and motorbikes. The driving physics are unrealistic and amazing for it.
 
This is the first GTA i'm actually into...its pretty fun I might add. I'm enjoying the missions but I'm staying away from the racing side mission(I hate them) and hopefully the main quest doesnt have any of those.

I haven't tried online as yet but it looks fun.

I've only played about 2 hours or so of GTA V, and an hour of that was actually Tennis (it was so good). Must play more.
 
so im at rank 16. still cant bank more than 10k at a time. what are you guys doing to make money at this level?

i would like to grab an apt/garage, nice car...etc...
