Was wondering what methods will be the fastest for a launch day iPhone X ?

So far I’ve always Had good luck since the iPhone 6+ on getting them on launch day off the website ( Verizon )

However, I’m seeing reports on here of using the Apple store app or the Verizon app ?

iOS 11 is slowly killing my 7+ and id like to retire it ASAP. This thing is not reliable like it was before iOS 11 double crossed it.

Thanks guys!
Wait. What? You mean to say your one year old IPhone is dying a premature death of functionality due to Apple’s gross incompetence and you want to know the best way to ensure they get another $1000+ of your hard earned money?

????????????

Weird. My iPhone 7 Plus is running very well on even iOS 11.1 beta 2.

The whole world will be fighting for their own iPhone X on pre-order nite. Those that succeed will have much joy. Those who fail will be waiting until 2018 to receive their devices.

I’d wish you all the best of luck, but I know if you are lucky that decreases my odds. Sorry :)

Mine is running ok. Battery life isn’t what it was on the version of 10 that it shipped with. I’m having some freezes and hiccups. If it all doesn’t clear up in a couple of months of updates and app updates, I will do a reset and start fresh. If that doesn’t work, and my new Pixel 2 XL works great, I’m taking the SIM card out of my 7 Plus, putting it into my iPhone SE so that my Apple Watch will still work, and I’ll just use the SE for iMessage and news and notifications and a few apps I use with Apple Watch. Everything else I’ll use on Android that runs on my second line. That’s a big IF. I assume Apple and the third party app developers will get everything back to good working order in a couple of months and I won’t have to resort to such drama.

I’m just remarking on how the OP’s situation sounds. If my IPhone were failing me due to iOS 11, I can’t imagine shelling out MORE money to replace a one year old phone whose premature failure is Apple’s fault. I’d be sending Apple some emails firmly but politely requesting their help to make it right. I suppose I’d start with a Genius appointment first.

Now if the OP wants a new phone just because he wants a new phone, hey, that’s cool. Best of luck getting it on preorder night.

Use the Apple Store app on the fastest iOS device you own. Go through and select the exact color/configuration you want and ‘favorite’ that phone ahead of time. That will save you precious seconds once the orders go live. You’ll just select the favorited phone instead of going through the multi-step process of selecting the configuration you want. Make sure your shipping address matches your billing address. Turn on Apple Pay and use it to buy the phone (saves you more precious seconds.)
May I ask you why the shipping address should match the billing address? Is it a US only thing? I was thinking of getting it delivered to my office address!

I live in the UK and have had trouble with a MacBook Pro order (not from Apple.com) because the billing address and shipping address were different.

Apple has that effect. Take me for example I was a 100% sure I would not buy a iPhone X, but after watching the keynote what did I do, I waited a week deciding what to do and ended up selling my perfectly good 7+ and now going to be trying to pre-order a X with everyone else who wants one. And I usually never upgrade a phone every year, every 2 years yup.

I’ve not had any problems in the past with the addresses matching. I generally get all my items delivered to a family members house.

Not to mention, those who were pondering about purchasing iPhone X have had almost 7 weeks to determine if they want to justify the price tag for this iPhone. Some have decided they will upgrade if they were questioning it and others have decided they're going to wait until next year. But third-party media does help sell the iPhone X for those who do pay attention to it.

what do you guys think, use the Apple App on my iphone 5s? or desktop PC through the apple store website? I am in the UK and buying the phone outright sim free.
(I have a very fast fibre optic wired internet connection on the desktop)

I had the 4 and 5, skipped 6 and 7, so the X is going to be a big upgrade for me. I really want one on pre order day!

Hi All,

Can I purchase 2 IPhone X’s at the same time via the Apple app or just one? I need one for the wife and myself.

Thanks in advance!

You can buy both at the same time but I wouldn’t do it. When I ordered the iPhone 7 I bought 1 for me and another for my husband. Mine showed the launch date for delivery and my husband’s had a latter date. I thought they would ship separately but no. They delayed mine because it was in the same order and I ended up canceling it and getting the phones at the store. So, just keep that in mind.

I think people who have a newer iPhone will have an advantage over others when it comes to Apple Store app, as it takes about 5-7 seconds on my 5S for the app to just load! I guess same thing applies to people with faster computer or faster broadband.

Anyway, I will open the Apple website on my PC, MacBook and my old Lumia 920, and I will open the Apple Store app on my 5S. Whichever works first, will use it to submit my order!

Nothing is guaranteed though, nobody really knows what Apples true supply is, there's all kinds of speculation and rumors flying around, but we won't know until the 27th when reports start trickling in on how long it takes for shipping times to start slipping.

yes, definitely a combination of the processing speed and RAM of the equipment, as well as the speed of your internet connection - think the new gb internet speeds available.

How is iOS 11 killing you 7+ when aside from some diminished battery life it works fine on my 6?

In any case, I think the only guaranteed method is to be Tim Cook! :D
