Guess the Formula!

    Just thought I'd create a thread where you try to guess a formula (one that's known widely) from the poster above you. If you correctly guess, you can then post one for the next person to guess. Also, no Googling!

    Formula:

    x(t)=x_0∙e^kt=x_0∙e^(t/τ )=x_0∙2^(t/T)=x_0∙(1+r/100) ^(t/p)

    What an intriguing idea for a thread.

    I'm in my second year of a maths degree. This formula does not look familiar.

    easy..

    x = (b^2 +- sqrt(b^2 - 4ac))/2a

    edit posted at the same time as mini ^^^ well that's the equation to solve a quadratic equation. and jmann to, that's the equation of rate of a slope.
    Area of a triangle, c'mon...

    keeping with the easy one,

    PV=NRT

    I sadly know most of my equations only in french, don't want to verify them in english.
