I finally broke down and purchased a new iPad Air 2, space gray, 64 GB. It's updating to the latest iOS right now, but I plan to use it for books and movies/TV. It cost me zero down and $34 per month for 24 months, thanks to Verizon Edge. I love it so far, much lighter than my iPad with Retina display.

I've been eyeing it, but I think it might be too big compared to my iPad Mini2. After watching an AT&T Tech struggling with a standard iPad, I'm not sure I'd be happier with the larger size.

Congrats. Yeah, compared to the iPad 3, this must be like holding a sheet of paper.

It's very close! :)

Excellent point, each use case will be different. Although, the carrier techs are usually struggling with the older, heavier models. The weight difference between the iPad Air 2 and the iPad with Retina display is like night and day for me. You might think about going into an Apple store and looking at the new models.

Enjoy , I recently got a gold air 2, so much faster then my old iPad 4. The 2gb of ram really is nice to have.

congrats! I got a white/silver air 2. it's so light and the screen is beautiful. No wrist fatigue from holding it a long time.

Congrats, just got mine last week. It really is a great tablet.

Upgraded from a 4 that I was planning on keeping until the 2015 model, but the recent BestBuy sale got me to bite. Saved $200 on my model compared to what Apple wants for it.

My old 4 could do just about everything the Air 2 can do, just the Air 2 is much faster, better to use, and easier to carry around. It is a very refined version of a very good tablet. Because its so light and portable, I find myself carrying it everywhere now.

With how powerful and light this one is, I'm hoping I'll be happy with it for two and a half years like my 4. The 4 had very impressive hardware specs when it was released and so does this Air 2. That means I'll be eyeballing the 2017 model.

Elaborate instead of posting an absolutely useless response. There have been non-stop sales at Best Buy, Staples, and other retailers where they have been knocking off $100 off WiFi models and $130 off cellular models.

64 GB Air 2 is 599 + tax. $34 a month for 24 months is over $800. Tell me how that works? Even if OP got the cellular model at MSRP, it is still overpaying if you include tax.

64GB + cellular can be found for $599. Just take it to Verizon and activate. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/apple-i...=8575135&loc=0&id=1219093517476&skuId=3782054

Your forgetting the data plan....

Not to derail the conversation, but...

Yesterday I picked up an iPad mini Retina (the one without Touch ID) 64 GB cellular model for $279.00 at Microcenter. It was originally priced at $729.00. It was the last one they had. Very pleased with the deal I got!

You're*, and no, the data plan isn't included in the monthly cost on a Verizon Edge device payment. It is separate.

I can never be bothered to fight with autocorrect when using my iPad. Also please be sure to read the forum rules on gramma correcting for the future.

$34 a month for 2 years? You overpaid big time.

My employer reimburses us for our mobile device payments so long as we obtain the devices directly from our carriers. This is why I chose to get my iPhones and iPads from Verizon.

According to Apple's website, the iPad Air 2, 64 GB, Wi-Fi+Cellular is $729.00. Twenty-four monthly payments of $34.00 = $816.00. If my employer chooses to overpay by $87.00, that's up to them.

I bought in Air 2 in Space Gray due to a Best Buy sale in March. I thought about waiting for the 3, but the iPad's finally got a ram bump, which was tipped the favor with the BB sale. I'm loving it so far.

Congrats on your purchase!

I have the 64gb model as well, but just wifi. I came from an iPad 4 and it's definitely a huge jump in performance.

I'm expecting delivery of a gold iPad Air 2 tomorrow too, very excited! I had the first iPad and finally upgraded to an iPad 2 but haven't had one since - I think I will notice a difference :D

Being in the UK where everything is more expensive, I had to pay £49 up front and £38 per month for 2 years but that does include 15gb of data.
