Pops in the the bottom. Like the housing sets top it. With the watch band around your wrist. The watch having a bevel or lip like the apple watch holding it snugly. It wouldn't fall out because of the magnets. And while around your write it's fimly planted.
Go place some magnets either side of your Watch, open Compass, and let us know how that goes for you.

Sounds good. The biggest thing I'm waiting for is BP. That will be the biggest game changer.
Glucose monitoring would be much bigger. For athletes, bodybuilders, diabetics (lesser so) and endurance people, it would be a game-changer.

Like many here, I am skeptical of a major update in 2024. A new processor seems like a big update for Apple Watch, so I don’t understand why Gurman dismissed it.

Moving to an 18 month update cycle would be a good move. The Apple watch is at the limits of current tech where for the next 2-3 years, the best they can offer is battery improvements via processor efficiency, better screen, faster performance and more ambitious software (once Apple finally ditches the Series 4, which has limited memory).

1) If it is just a redesign, the Apple Watch 9 may be something to buy - as it will be the last Apple Watch to work with all prior accessories, and will be the most up to date "legacy watch" in terms of processor / battery

2) That said, if the blood pressure monitor works, that will be an important upgrade for millions. New health sensors are one of the few things they to do to really move the needle.

When I bought the Series 5, it didn’t live up to my expectations, so I returned it. I promised myself that I wouldn’t even consider purchasing another one until at least five more versions had been released: Series 10. Furthermore, with the inclusion of a blood sugar monitor on the horizon, it seems that my decision to wait was the right one.

You'll be waiting longer than 2024.

I'm on Apple Watch 6. Waiting for something new and I hope the X is it or I will wait. I'm not band obsessive
so change the attachment method for all I care.

So you have had many years of use? And no one is forcing you to "upgrade" are they?

The OS updates force everybody to upgrade. 3rd party Apps stop working and security updates stop being rec'd around 4-5 years later.

I have series 4 waiting until 2024. I see it to believe it. seen most assumptions are wrong or fractionally right.

From an environmental standpoint, I don’t see the difference between releasing one new iPhone every year, vs every 2 years. You still have to manufacture and ship them, and it still produces the same amount of packaging and waste.

What exactly is the benefit here, barring lower R&D costs, which would be offset by lower sales?
Some people think that, because Apple brings out new iPhones each year, that everyone is buying a new iPhone and throwing their old phones in the trash. Neither of those things are the case.

You, I and most iPhone users may not need a new iPhone every year, but Tim and his investors do to keep the stock humming along.
That’s my problem with capitalism. There’s always the expectation of infinite growth until they realize that’s not tenable. Just be happy with the revenue you have and keep your company stable. Greed is the ultimate failure of humans.

Edit: that’s why no system is ever going to be perfect. The human element will always be a problem.

So... the Green company that doesn't create any waste is: 1) going to change their charging system requiring millions of users to a) purchase an adapter, or B toss their old charger and cable for a new one (millions and millions of cables.). 2) The Apple Watch X charger no longer works with the old chargers, thereby forcing more people to toss their old chargers.
3) Now the Green company that is so carbon friendly will require us to top all of our watch bands away to buy new ones. Wow! What a green company. I know they need to make a profit but this is ridiculous. Keep the band attachment, just improve upon the watch and the band! Here is an idea- Samsung already has BP built, what about blood glucose, Heart Rate Variability, peripheral circulation to detect clots from spike proteins, better camera functions to take group pictures; better work out interface or different recordings. AND PLEASE redesign Apple Health so that it's functional for doctors and patients.. the latest app is just another zzzz drole attempt at bad user interface. I really feel apple is the new Microsoft of the 90s! Buggy software, products are the same (yes I know that they have ARM chips at 3nm but their software sucks!)

I doubt the band attachment system will change. It would very seriously aggravate an awfully large number of customers - and as someone else said, it smells a lot like a piece of deliberate misinformation to trap internal leakers.

Magnetic attachment? Don't people use the watch to measure their sporty activities? Is Apple's idea of sports just pushing weights in a gym?

Does your iPhone with MagSafe go wonky?
Apple already warn that the magnet in the Milanese Loop band can affect the compass - more magnets in watch bands doesn’t sound plausible.

Perhaps it’s because of its size. Although, maybe if Apple know where the magnet is exactly, as they would in iPhone, but can’t know in the Milanese Loop clasp (as it’s affected by wrist size), then they can compensate 🤔

Regardless, I would hate it, I don’t want to have to replace my watch band collection, and it would stop me from upgrading (for a long time anyway), and it would stop me building up a new collection when I finally did upgrade.

The new magnetic band system is not for innovation, but more like for the sake of emptying your wallet. Your dozens of band won't be compatible anymore.
