How long is the backlog for the current MacBook Pros? It took me 2+ months to get mine.

Common wisdom (now that is a oxymoron if I've ever seen one) suggest that those delays are due to the display being in short supply.

So nothing that would speak against a new Mini or MacPro. Maybe not even an iMac or MacBookAir if these use displays from a different source.

I've been away from the forum but is that how long the current backlog is?! That's insane. I waited a month for mine last year, after ordering on launch day.

Edit: OH Wow, I just checked the Apple website. The 16" MBP are Mar17-30 delivery dates. The 14" MBP are next month. Okay, wow.
Yes it’s crazy

Where’s my iMac mini pro ???

That comes with two display options, 14" or 16"...!

It's looking like the higher-end iMac might be coming out later than anticipated.

Maybe Mini LED panel supply issues, just like with the ASi 14" & 16" MBP laptops...?

Pro chip Mini... Pro chip Mini... Pro chip Mini...

Max SoC mini, Max SoC mini, Max SoC mini...!

My body is ready for new Laser printers, stand-alone cameras, and iPod 5g Mark II with WiFi and Bluetooth.

We talking the QuickTake handheld point & shoot cameras, or the iSight webcam...?!? ;^p

I’m not complaining about the M1 Pro/Max but in my head, the mini was aimed at a more casual audience, that’s why I expected it to be much smaller, lighter and efficient with a lower power SoC

So I guess you have not seen the 2018 October Mac Event presentation where Apple announced the new Space Gray Mac mini and showed off a range of "Pro" usage paths...?

200 SKUs of accessories, adaptors, watchbands and airtag holders. Combine that with their normal round of "least viable changes to call it a new product" like we saw last fall and I guess it's technically the widest array of new products.

I've never been more excited about Apple's product pipeline. 2022 is going to be an unforgettable year for us all.

2021 was equally nice I’d say! Great desktops and laptops. Phone was updated like clockwork. Lame improvements on Watch but that’s just their strategy to give as less as possible per year unless they’re forced to deliver otherwise.

Ahhh the return of the petite Mac Pro rumor as the image shows. Well the next Mac Pro could be significantly smaller also. You wouldn’t be tethered to full size graphic cards utilizing multiple M1 Max based design.
Personally the small MacPro would be of interest to me depending on specs but it should be more than plenty powerful enough for what I need.
I’d end up sticking with external HDD’s because as much as I love the SSD getting into the larger sized units like 8tb is still cost prohibitive for me and that is no one’s fault because I have 0.00 income coming in.
No has nothing to do with Covid or the economy it is just the fact that I was diagnosed w/ terminal cancer.
I’d love to be able to do something from home that I would not get scammed on. Keep looking but you know the make $25k in a month is not something I’m going to even go to a website to look at.

I agree 2021 was a very good year, but 2022 has the feel of something much bigger about to happen.

Well, we know one thing for sure. The software bugs will be bigger issues than the new hardware and it will be months before the software is actually released that was touted in the Keynote. Thats the new Apple. Too bad Apple does not have someone in charge that understands Technology.

See, I like the touchbar. There are some apps that integrated it nicely.
Affinity Photo and MS Word for example imo.
But pay extra to get it instead if actual function keys? Nah, I’d stick with the keys in that case.

It would be worth it just to drive the Touchbar haters crazy. You could walk into a Starbucks, flash your Touchbar, and they’d flee in panic.

The only real news here is that the 27” iMac refresh might not come til fall, instead of spring as we’ve heard previously.

I’m inclined to doubt that, though. Apple likes to space out its product announcements. Dropping that many new products at once is not impossible, but it would be unprecedented.

Apple is working on a number of new products that are set to launch this fall, and Bloomberg's Mark Gurman say that it will be "the widest array" of new devices that Apple has introduced in its history.

Upcoming-Products-2022-Feature.jpg

In his latest "Power On" newsletter, Gurman explains that Apple is working on four new iPhones (iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Max), an updated low-end MacBook Pro, a refreshed larger-screened iMac, a new Mac Pro, a redesigned MacBook Air, second-generation AirPods Pro, three Apple Watches (Series 8, SE, and Rugged), a low-end iPad, and new iPad Pro models.

We've shared details on many of these devices before and information on what to expect can be found through the links below or through our dedicated upcoming products guide that walks through everything that Apple is expected to unveil this year.

According to Gurman, most of the new products are expected in the fall months, but there is a possibility that the iMac could come earlier. Apple is planning a spring event in March or April that will see the launch of the 5G iPhone SE, a refreshed iPad Air with an A15 chip, and perhaps at least one Mac.

Apple may use the spring event to bring the M1 Pro chip to another Mac, either a higher-end iMac or Mac mini, but the bulk of the Mac refreshes, which will include a new version of the Mac Pro and an entirely overhauled MacBook Air, are unlikely to happen before the fall.

Gurman speculates that the upcoming iPad Pro will have an M2 chip and wireless charging, features that make it a candidate for a fall launch rather than a spring launch. Apple did, however, submit regulatory filings for nine new iPads and three new iPhone models, so it is possible more than one iPad could be refreshed at the spring event.

Apple had also planned to introduce its AR/VR headset in 2022, but rumors have suggested that the device's debut may have been pushed back to 2023 as there are still issues that need to be worked out.

Apple's spring event last year took place in April, so we could see a similar timeline this year. The spring event will be followed by the Worldwide Developers Conference in June, which will see the launch of iOS 16 and macOS 13, and then in fall, with so many products planned, Apple is likely to hold at least two events.
