Hard for me to get excited with Apple appearing to have abandoned a smaller iPhone form factor.
Overengineered buttons cost more and fail easier, so there's a bigger margin and greater chance of them needing repairs or making a device obsolete => solves the problem of not enough money going to apple.Still don’t see the problem this is fixing. Is it introducing some new feature set?
Absolutely not. He is one of the most popular ‘this could happen’ sources out there. Is there a way to filter out Gurman-related posts on MacRumors?
Gurman says Apple has been "wavering" on the feature because of the costs and the complexity.
I actually much prefer the longer pill-shaped buttons we have today. These felt harder to press accurately since they were smaller. What’s it going to take for Apple to bring back this volume button design? I miss simpler times!

Not sure how widely used 3D touch was. I found it finicky but maybe that was just my particular phone or me in general not figuring out how to use it rightHow about bringing back 3D Touch with the Haptic Buttons?
is it bad... that my phone still has those...?What’s it going to take for Apple to bring back this volume button design? I miss simpler times!

you obviously have never repaired a iphone. a physical button will last longer. just ask my iphone 2g.Im looking at this as a good thing less moving parts = less failures
they're smaller... because they were never on a iphone bigger than 4 inches... no one will put huge buttons on a small phone...?I actually much prefer the longer pill-shaped buttons we have today. These felt harder to press accurately since they were smaller.
Apple's intentions are to eventually have an iPhone with no ports or physical buttons at all, in a totally sealed and glued up slab of glass and aluminium.Still don’t see the problem this is fixing. Is it introducing some new feature set?
i didn't even think of this, but now i want this.Haptic buttons? BFD. Wouldn’t it be cooler if the Apple iPhone Pro supported the Apple Pencil?
i have nightmares as a repairer about that.Apple's intentions are to eventually have an iPhone with no ports or physical buttons at all, in a totally sealed and glued up slab of glass and aluminium.
i hope it never happens, and it was just a lieim so tired of this rumor already
no one knows anything about apple anymore. they've become too secretive. its a miracle we even caught them draining batteries to influence people to buy new iphones. This haptic button thing is bordering on parody at this point, we've had so many flip flopping articles about the 15, now we're talking about the 16.

It’s more likely to be more software = more failures.Im looking at this as a good thing less moving parts = less failures
