If April, it won't be so bad to wait 2 more months until the June Back-To-School sale. That's my plan... for an entry level 11"+ OLED iPad Pro with 256 GB storage and 8 GB RAM, at the price of the current 256 GB / 8 GB:

Edu CA$1159 / US$849
Retail CA$1229 / US$899
I'm sure no one is thinking about going back to school in June..

We’ll see!

Traditionally, Gurman has been pretty well informed. He’s, however, been significantly and consistently off since basically last year… so I’m not sure what to make of this.

Such a great prediction! Other than this week, the remainder of March and the whole of April would make his guess correct LOL

Just having oled and new design isn’t gonna make the iPad Pro now worth it, it’s not a used product for most people because it’s just a big iPhone
I've been using the iPad Pro 12.9 daily since purchasing in December, 2018. All of my dialysis notes are kept on it and iClouded > Macs at home. If they released a 15" iPad Pro, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

But yeah, my iPhone doesn't work with my pencil, so...

Does he not care about the mini, or is it such a minor change they can’t tell because of supply chain differences
Gurman usually continues with same prediction until it happens or the dates past. The mini is still very popular for what it presents IMHO and still see an update sooner then later. ;)

but what would make you think I need to upgrade to the new one, I have the m1 12.9 and oled isnt a reason to need the upgrade

Who wants an iPad that suffers from burn-in? I’ll stick with the LED models.
That's sort of the big question for me. I still have the 1st M1 iPad Pro and want to upgrade, but not if I have to worry about burn-in.

but what's the main upgrade point, mini led is fine and so is the design, what would make anyone who has an iPad Pro go out and think I need the new one, m3 is over kill the m1 is still over kill
MiniLED isn’t reliable for me I am currently on my 2nd replacement after 2 of them had failed pixels clusters
it’s my most used device so gets a lot of usage daily

Mini LED is not fine for text, if you want high-contrast text or read in the dark. I bought a Samsung OLED tablet because I wasn't satisfied with the iPad Pro LCD display. Mini LED is also restricted to the 12.9". Furthermore the new Pros will be thinner and (hopefully) lighter and have a landscape camera. You don’t have to buy them if you don’t care.

”You always were an *******, Gurman!”

I rarely feel stressed out from waiting for a new product, but the battery in my 2018 Pro is really starting to show signs of its age now. I sometimes have to charge it twice a day, so please, just release the damn thing! 😩

That shouldn’t even be a concern. OLED have improve so much over the years, look at your iPhone 12 and newer, OLED and rarely any burn in issues. I haven’t see any in fact

I wonder if the iPad Pro and Air will share the same design to be able to use a refreshed Magic Keyboard? or if the new Magic Keyboard will be for the Pro only?

That will be interesting for sure... the only thing about my current Magic Keyboard is the lack of function keys... which I increasingly notice. Not being able to instantly dim the backlight etc and a larger trackpad would be welcome... and if they could do it... to enable it to angle back just that little bit extra would be a sure ergonomic winner (I feel anyhow)...

But Im not so sure how much more money I can spend on keyboards 😂 I mean Id probably buy a new Magic Keyboard for my iPad Air 4 (it still works perfect), if its still compatible, and then can upgrade the iPad Air in 2 or 3 years and still use the same keyboard. But to buy a new Magic Keyboard and new iPad Air at the same time to get that keyboard benefit... Im looking at $1000 at least.... and it's just not a great value.
