Are you a BMW M series kind of guy or a Nissan Versa kind of guy. Get what you pay for.
Wait, I rather have a Nissan than a BMW. (I wouldn't buy a Nexus though)
Are you a BMW M series kind of guy or a Nissan Versa kind of guy. Get what you pay for.
There are a ton of amazing cars that aren't priced at what a BMW M is priced at. The whole car to Apple analogy has always been silly in my opinion.

I think the car analogy is useful.
Some people place different value to different things. Some people have more financial capabilities than others. For some, spending $70K on a car is for what others is spending $10. That is just life.
Some people can afford a $70K car and do so. Others cannot and, well, don't. Sure, a $10K car can take you from A to B just like the $70K car, but I can tell you having driven both $10K and $70K cars, and $120K cars, there IS a difference.
That difference may not matter to some. But if you can afford it, good for you! Why hate? Envy? To each his or her own.
So what if you want to spend $1000 on an iPad? If you have it, spend it! Sure, I can do a lot of what that iPad does with a Nexus, but I don't want to. There are compromises I don't want to make. Just like with a car.
I think there should be a little more respect around here for people's diversity. Diversity in financial status, in priorities, and in likes. What do YOU like? What can YOU afford? No reason to hate on someone who can afford something better or likes something different. Be happy for them!
I can't afford a $500K car. So I make do with my MB or my BMW. It's all relative. Just because I like nice cars or nice iPads doesn't make me evil. Whether I won the lottery, whether I married well or whether I earn my money should make no difference. People should be respected with their diverse opinions and means.

...And then there is the entire status thing with cars, which I will never understand... people want cars to be seen. People want electronics to use.
I spent some time doing some off-line reading in the Bible. Jesus said iPads are ok.

I'd be a Ford Mustang GT 5.0 kind of guy. Same performance and features as the BMW M3, $20,000 cheaper.
The car analogy doesn't quite work does it...
