I remember the days you are going through.

I think the funniest part is that as soon as your in college, the people who care about their hair day to day become more of a minority.

Just play it off as something you wanted to give a try for the summer. Life's mostly about confidence.

I realize you think your hair is your most important feature but its probably not. I doubt I'm going to push you past this idea, so I won't even try.

I'm just grateful your being understanding, unlike some of the other 'decent' people who use MR.

Kids will be kids I know, but in my school there are a lot of idiots, I guess like any school. I just cant be putting up with it right now.

Are you one of them?

You're overreacting. Now dry your eyes, pull up your diapers, and just shave the rest of your head to match. Wear a beanie. Whatever.

Imagine how ridiculed you'll be when people see a 4" strip of hair shaved off your head while the rest of it was left long, mullet-boy. Shaving it will probably be the smarter thing to do.

No, I'm not, but I'm beginning to think you might have been.

And the rest of it isn't long.

You were the one who showed no maturity in anything you had said, and then decided to tell us that there were a lot of idiots at your school who would make fun of your hair. Also, I was one of those people who was aware that hair grows back.

Funny that. Guess I was one of the gifted ones. :p

And like everyone else said, shave it. It'll look cool, and if not, wear a beanie. Shaving heads is kind of "in" anyway.

We aren't even allowed to wear hats at my school. :p Just get it evened out. Tell everyone you wanted to do something different. :)

Nor at mine, yet people who prefer to complain about my maturity, or rather lack-of, keep insisting I do.

They call me immature, yet they condone rule breaking. Go figure!

How did I not show maturity? I'm presenting a fashion show infront of like 500, single handedly, and with a few local Papers etc coming, taking lots of pictures, sorry if I don't want to look like a total idiot. (As I do with short, shaved hair, at least at the length req. to hide the mishap). Maybe I'm vain, so what, you can't persecute me 'cos of that. And there are idiots at my school, I'm sure you were friends with that crowd in your HS days :p

And what? I wasn't? My concern was that it wouldn't grow back in time for the fashion show (at least, to some extent)

Come on, you've had time to get over it by now. Deal with it, its only hair. Grow up. Shave it off and move on. All it will take is one person to see you out of school with fake tan 'covering up' your missing patch and all your fears will come true, it'll go around the whole school that you wimped out of school because you messed up your hair. If you shave it off and move on saying you felt like something new then no body will care.

I'm sure you are genuinely upset and I'm fully aware that different things affect different people in different way. I also know how image is really important at school even to most people who say they don't care. At the end of the day the most important thing at school isn't what you look like, its your confidence and personality. Confidence is the key.

Thanks for been supportive, to some extent :p (In your 2nd paragraph)..

But your too late!

I already agreed to go to school, muuuuuch earlier...

PS: I already were St. Tropez, which is seen to some as Fake Tan.

I didn't see that point, sorry!

I'm glad you're just going to go back and deal with it. Shows you're not a coward! I once burnt my forehead on a toaster at school (don't ask) and had to walk around with an inch wide burn on my head for a few weeks!! I just laughed it off and although I caused a few laughs I didn't really get any stick for it. It was a pretty stupid thing to do after all!! If you laugh something off and are confident about it nobody really cares, people only really care if you react badly!!

Why not just shave all of it off , give it to the Cancer Agency to make wigs
get the cancer research pin to wear and tell all your school buddies you did it for a good cause and screw what it looks like?
A friend of my wore his hair in a ponytail for years and when he got fed up with long hair he had it cut at one of those Cancer fundraisers and raised about $500 since his hair was so long. The place then took the hair to make into wigs for cancer patients.
When I finally get rid off my mid-thigh length hair that where its going to be done.

Alright folks, this thread is done. The OP vented and figured out what they're going to do.

There's been too much personal/immature commentary going back and forth in here to keep this going...
