It just works.

Not for everyone, for me, my iphone 6 on occasion recognizes a supported app from my 2013 MBA. The MBA never recognizes anything from the iphone...

Apple will get it fixed but definitely not ready for prime time

Mine have pulled the ol' switcheroo... Now I get open apps on the iPhone appearing on my Mac but not the other way anymore.

The calling works though.

Thankfully my calling works as well. The other is broken big time!!!

It has different requirements for each feature:
Phone call>same wifi
Sms > same apple id
Handoff > Bluetooth

Everything is working fine for me except Handoff and instant hotspot (which I don't think I can do anyway because I have a Macbook Pro Late 2011). I'm getting all of my SMS on my iPad and Mac, phone calls are coming to both. All 3 with Bluetooth on and on the same Wi-Fi network.

I have:
iPhone 6 iOS 8.1
iPad Mini 2 iOS 8.1
Macbook Pro Late 2011 OSX Yosemite

Yup, I think the bluetooth functionality is hosed
