Is it just one way, I.e. from phone to HomePod. Or can we handoff from the HomePod to the phone.

I would like to do both but the wording on the update release makes it sound like it only works one way which would be a shame.

Did you get it to work from phone to HomePod? When I bring my phone close to the HomePod, it makes a sound like it got the request but nothing happens.

I haven’t even managed to get my homepods to update yet. Keeps saying downloading and then when I go back to check if it’s done it’s reverted back to ‘request update’.

It works both Ways

iPhone and Homepod both updated fine. Cannot get music handoff to work.

For me Handoff is also not working in any direction.

Problem is a few weeks back I had to reset Network settigns on my iPhone.
Since then Continuity features are making problems on multiple devices, like share clipbaord not always working, handoff to one ipad not wokring etc.

Seems like the only way to fix it is to logout from iCloud and back in, which I haven't tried so far because it will certainly break more than repaird(Two paird watches, apple pay, message in icloud, reuploading photos library etc.)

I can't get it to work either. Not sure what is wrong..... Tried a reboot and still nothing.

I am not able to get it to work either. I have tried different devices, etc. I double checked all my settings and it should be good, but nothing. Any ideas?

Still working ok for me after uofrading from 13.2 to 13.2.1 . Play some music on the phone and hold it near the HomePod and the phone vibrates and then a couple of seconds later the music transfers to the HomePod. Repeat the process and it transfers back to the phone.

I got one of my three bricked Homepods today replaced. Vice recognition for me and my wife works. I can Handoff music from my iphone but it won't do anything for my wife. Any suggestions? Handoff setting is on on her iphone too.

Sounds like exactly what we are going through. I think this version just was not properly tested. It has been a rough go. It was recommended I sign in and out of iCloud, which actually screwed up everything leading to an iOS and watchOS restore.

Finally got my two HomePods up to 13.2.1, iPhone 13.2, unplugged/plugged HomePods, reset network settings on iPhone, etc

But, no luck - Handoff doesn't work

Is there some setting somewhere that needs to be toggled on?

I definitely don't want to log out of iCloud on my iPhone as that usually creates pain in and of itself, so looking for another solution

Thanks

Started working for me after I reset my HomePods (full reset, not just unplug/plug-in) - can be done from the Home app. Tap Restart HomePod then choose Remove Accessory, and finally proceed to set it up as new.

Be *absolutely* sure you are on 13.2.1 before you do this, otherwise you'll have expensive bricks.

Handoff isn’t working for me as well. I tried resetting (I am on 13.2.1) and configure as new twice. Also logged out of iCloud on the phone. Bluetooth is on and the handover to HomePod setting too.
I am out of ideas and I think I have to give up for now.

edit: removed the Apple leather case of my iPhone X as well, no luck.

Bluetooth on

Also, I did find a toggle in the iPhone's setting app that needs to be on (mine was/is on) (just search for "handoff" within the Settings app)

I guess I could try removing the Homepods's from my Home and then re-adding them - would definitely be less painful than logging out of iCloud

Maybe I'll give that a shot this weekend if it doesn't start working any other way

What about other settings like who has access to the speakers. I have set it to everyone, same network and persons in my home. We need someone who got it working to find out more.

Are you getting close enough to the top of the HomePod? After I updated to 13.2.1, it just worked and pretty fast too. No special song or dance. I brought the iPhone over the HomePod about 3” and got the notification and the music transferred. Same in the reverse.

The way I got it to work was by removing the HomePod from the home app, essentially resetting all settings, and re-adding it.

That's what ended up working for me too

Glad I didn't have to log out of iCloud on my iPhone

So I removed everything from the home app, even deleted the home and added all my accessories.

I FINALLY got multi-user support working.

Handoff works on my XS Max but not my wife's 7.

Does the iPhone 7 support HomePod handoff?

I believe HomePod audio handoff works the same way handoff between Mac and iPhone does with safari, documents etc...which requires both devices to be on the same Apple ID.
