No mention of battery life?

No big sign saying how long it lasts so im assuming its a problem?

Not impressed.

Mobile phones replaced watches long time ago and I will not go back.

I thought with all the hype they had pulled something major off. But this looks laughable. The only thing funnier are the mac journalists trying to find something nice to say.

What were ives and cook thinking?

some questions I have

1. Why look/show your pictures in that tiny screen when you have your iPhone in your pocket
2. Why speak close to your hand like a moron to siri when your can use hands free equipment with your phone
3. How cool is not seeing what time is it when being under the sun?
4. Are you sure this looks better than moto 360?

Let's be honest here. Sites like the Verge and Engadget need to keep being invited to Apple events. They aren't going to say much negative.

This is the best e-watch on the market, by the looks, design, everything, especially the high end version (which will likely be silly money) which doesn't look awful, HOWEVER, it seems so unintuitive!

The iPhone was such a hit because it made touch screens, and smartphones, accessible; it certainly wasn't the first "smartphone". But changing the clock face on this... oh my word I would have no idea whatsoever how to do that without an instruction manual. If any of my friends are stupid enough to buy this and they were to lend it to me, I'd probably accidentally drop it into a useless world clock app and have no clue how to get out.

These watches could change how you access the data on your phone, but they aren't going to replace it for the same reason the phablet took off: because there is a premium on real estate. Make this a better looking device which I set from a companion app on my phone or laptop and I'll bite; right now Apple have previewed a device which isn't ready for market, possibly because they are spooked by investors who think Apple need to innovate and so have reacted to that, which is just terrible if true.

To top it off, Apple made the most un-Apple move and previewed without releasing. Yeah, they did it with the Mac Pro, but that was a professional level device which sales were not dependant on hype, but instead relied on a solid base of tested and supported apps, which the lead-time allowed for. This watch is a consumer product, and Apple have taken a (bad) page out of all other tech companies' books and previewed miles before the release. To top it off, nothing irritates me, and I'm sure others, more than when a company says "Spring 2015" and releases on the last day of the season, it just looks bad and Apple made that error with the thin iMacs and the Mac Pro; I fear they will do it here too.

This thing is gimmicky.
Who the hell is gonna draw on that tiny screen?
Who's gonna send 3 taps to message to someone else that they are out?
Why not just use a phone and call or text someone?

after watching the keynote and this video I'm even more sure this is not something I want. The look is ok (for the smaller one, the other one is way too big for most wrists) but I still don't know why I would need this and nothing Apple said convinced me otherwise. constant interaction with a tiny touchscreen device on my wrist is not something I want if pretty much all it does my iphone does better. and in the few cases where I would actually want to have this instead of an iphone (like when exercising) it's no good either because it only works with a phone present. great. and the battery life must really be terrible if they refused to mention it.

Pass.

Probably Apple didn't think of any of this.

I don t understand why they think people want a watch who's display is always off and hard to read in direct sunlight...

I was so sure I wanted one until I watched the demo... Screen keeps going to sleep while the apple lady was trying to do stuff... Maybe v2 will be ok.

Really? Looks intuitive enough for most people to figure out.

And that's hardly un-Apple. The iPad was announced months before launch, so was the iPhone. It's actually patently Apple to unveil a new product category before mass production - gives developers time to develop for it, and prevents leakes.

.

I can NOT believe how cheap that thing looks.

Especially after:

1. Jony I've says: watch out Switzerland (hahaha)
2. They hire the Burberry lady

I was actually expecting a beautifully designed, iconic watch... not even close.

I think he meant watches are so limited in comparison hardly anyone will want one after they see and play with  watch. This is design one. Remember design one of iPhone.  watch can change for the better design he has tucked away but the watch makers will scramble for years trying to catch up with the software and interface apple has created. That's my take on his words and meaning.

Hey guys, Google here. Today we are pleased to announce a revolutionary new product category. This amazing device was designed from the ground up be worn on your wrist. It has a magnificent circular touchscreen, the first of its kind. Truly magical. In terms of design, our goal was to create an elegant fashion accessory that wouldn't look out of place alongside premium Swiss timepieces. We're extremely proud of what we came up with, and we think that our customers are absolutely going to love it.

Was this supposed to be funny much less make sense?

As for the watch or (smart) watches in general.. I couldn't care less. I will never wear one of these.

If Apple thinks this is the next iPhone or iPad they are mistaken.

Its not always off. It can sense when you raise your wrist to look at it and automatically turns on.

Do you really have a hard time seeing a display in sunlight? I can always see my phone well enough to know what time it is and what notifications I have.

Of course it has glitches to work out... That's why it isn't being shipped yet.
