Not a major issue, but still no option for Siri male or female voices outside North America

This GM release seems a step back w/ the removal of beta features (release yet tbd)

In the meantime, Apple keeps raking in more money than ever and the same is true for their developers.

What exactly are you hoping that Apple would do? They have never cared about what users want. They'll do what they think is the best and people keep buying them.

If you don't like what Apple is doing, then buy Android. Vote with your money.

Exactly right. If you don't like what Apple is doing, buy elsewhere. You always vote with your dollars.

You know what, both phones are just great and I'm glad Apple is so successful in the iToy market. But I'm afraid the time has come for Apple to sell off the Macintosh division.

I understand computers are no longer the important money maker to Apple that they once were, but, IMHO, they are neglecting the Mac line.

Many of us have been loyal Mac users for many years and depend on these machines for our livelihood. An update every 18 month or 2 years (or more) is unacceptable. If Apple doesn't want the Mac business anymore because there is more money to be made in toys, that's fine - and I'm not saying that I even blame them. But they aren't getting the support and attention that they (and us, the end users) deserve.

I'd love to see Apple spin off "Macintosh, Inc" to a group who can help the Mac continue to evolve because right now, it's stagnate....

Seriously? Retina Macbook Pro is the best laptop they've ever made. The iMacs are the most beautifully designed and Apple's laptops are still regarded as the best laptops on the market, for both Macs and Windows.

They're still among the best for battery life, companies are still trying to imitate Apple in everything they do.

Desktops have peaked a couple of years ago, people are buying more laptops than desktops and that is continuing to increase over time.

CPUs innovation are no longer about power but power efficiency instead. Intel and AMD has given up on that GHZ/cores race a while ago and working on getting the most for the least.

Also, the hardware updates are slowing down because the hardware for it have peaked. Everything's just going to slow down. Majority of folks are not even upgrading every year either. The PC market has been declining for more than 10-20% every year. Apple's the only one who is the least impacted but they're going to be affected soon.

What exactly do you think is lacking from Apple?

You seem to have a lot of time in your hands to be able to search for other people's posts... ;)

You mean like click on his name and be shown all of 6 posts and select one. You are right the extra 5 minutes took up most of my day.

Never noticed this before, so it may not be a change.

I noticed the "Call Waiting" button is off and cannot be changed.

Life must suck for you then

I don't mind waiting a few weeks, which is what it will be by the time I get up and order it online on the 20th. Just like having that luxury of pre-ordering like the last couple years.

All I wanted was a 64GB option in a 5C.
More colors mean fewer capacity options. 5 colors times 3 sizes would be overkill. 10 different 5C models need to be enough. For the 5S its 3 colors times 3 sizes, 9 different models. And the 4S in 2 colors same size.

So we already have 21 iPhones, not including different GSM and CDMA models.

If the 5C is set to bridge the gap in 3rd world countries like here in mexico, I do not see it happening.

Apple never said the 5C was meant to be a cheap iPhone that would compete on price with Android phones; that's just something that rumor sites like MacRumors guessed, which turned out to be incorrect.

I already see all these angry posts from people who'll claim they cannot unlock their phones in cold weather, because the sensor doesn't read fingerprints through gloves :D

To be fair, it is a feature that other phones offer :p

And why no PS/2 port? Some of like to connect keyboards!
I think there's a difference between an industry standard (for every company except Apple) port that's on the majority of phones sold, and an old and out dated port that you probably couldn't find a PS/2 Keyboard to plug into.

Na, you not alone - but it is the iOS kiddy years. I knew it would get bad when we had to change monitors to Dell at the studio after 10 years of Cinema Displays - And some people counting iPad sales as "Apple computers " sales - My God!

But I disagree with the spin off - whatever happens Macs should stay at Apple

Sounds like I am in the minority, but I am very much looking forward to getting the 5S. Coming from a 4 currently this is going to be a huge upgrade for me.

Ditto. I passed on the other iPhone offerings since I got the 4. Now it's time to update myself with something a bit faster. My phone is a tool, not a fashion statement that goes out of style every 6 months.

I waited all this time for this?

Exciting new products you call this? As quoted by Tim Cook earlier this year. Colors is all I see and just spec upgrades. I agree the 5C does look nice, although the U.S. price at $549 is not budget by no means. Also, it has a 4" screen. Just don't see why someone would purchase it over a Nokia with larger screen size and better specs or Android Nexus etc..

I have to agree that Apple does have the best and most secure platform, although the finger sensor on the 5s seems a little scary to me. Encrypted yes, although it just seems like they are becoming more like Android. Nothing is never 100% secure.

After following this site for a couple of months I was hoping for the Iphone 6 today with a 4.8" igzo screen, just so Apple could save customer base. I think people are sick of waiting, just seems they could of redesigned the shell with the screen going to the edges without increasing the size that much. Or they could of put out three different screen sizes.

Glad I didn"t buy AAPL stock, was thinking about it, due to rumors of a 5C priced at $349 USD and it would of surely had grown their market share against Android and in emerging markets and been a big hit.

I seen concept pictures of the Iphone 6 with a wrap around screen and was hoping for that. Just seems that people will look elsewhere instead of waiting for a larger screen next year.

I'm happy with my 4S just don't see a need to upgrade until something really amazing comes out. The 5C at $349 USD would of done it for me. Prices seem to be dropping on Androids and Window phones and Apple is still stuck with these high prices and small screens.

Just my thoughts!

It's all about expectations. Apple could have "leaked" that the 5c wouldn't be a cheap phone, and that it would simply replace the 5 and come in colors. But the "cheap" monkier continued, and so you had a lot of people expecting what Nokia did with the 520 - a $120 off contract smartphone. Given Apple, I would have expected a front camera and flash for $250, and that's with Apple's healthy margin, but not a phone twice that.

I thought Apple did well today. I think the 5C will appeal and sell to those who want something cheaper (the multiple colors is a definite plus).
I have a 5 and now find myself thinking of getting a 5S just because of the faster chip and the finger printing thingy...

I'm expecting bigger things when the iPhone 6 appears.

The 5c will sell by the millions in China now that they can connect to their tellecom system.

What "bigger things" do you expect with the iPhone 6? Let Apple know what you want and expect. Big chance that what you 'expect' may already be in the 5s.

Pretty amazing how Apple has been selling iDevices like this since they started and people think it is going to change now.

When they started they had a huge jump on the competition. The market has gotten vastly more competitive, I certainly hope Apple would try and change their strategy to stay competitive.

I already see all these angry posts from people who'll claim they cannot unlock their phones in cold weather, because the sensor doesn't read fingerprints through gloves :D

Those people already wouldn't be able to do anything with the phone with gloves on once it's unlocked anyway. They already make special gloves to work with touchscreen.

Given that Apple has not successfully managed to keep a tight lid on the *next* iPhone, I think some people will always be disappointed given there is no surprise when the iPhone is offically announced.

PS/2 Keyboards outdated? You have (probably) no idea!

Unless you get a Nokia!

They're 100% outdated in the consumer space. Server rooms may still use them, but I'm not sure you could even find one in Best Buy, and certainly not with a new PC. At any rate, they're less common than SD slots ;)

who's gonna buy last year's phone to save a measly $100 over a current flagship knowing that, apart from the satisfaction of owning a top of the line product, if that's a thing for you, that extra $100 will get you hardware that will last/be relevant a year longer than the cheaper alternative, however long that'll last
