OK I think everybody has been slightly misunderstanding something. You’re trying to stick the charger on the case without the phone. The magnets inside of the phone are designed to click into the case for a snug fit the other accessories are designed to use the strength of a magnet in the phone itself to stick on for example the wall it will stay on to the stronger magnets inside of the phone how can you possibly be just sticking it to the case and expecting it to stay on with any size of strength. I think I’ll be proven correct on Friday.

Not sure of your point. Many, many people already have Qi charging at home, or even in their cars. CarPlay aside, a lot of people are already well-prepared for a portless phone.

In fact, the main reason I won’t buy the MagSafe charger is because I already have a few 7.5w pucks at home, as well as a few USB-C slots I can plug into. Remind me how this is a net negative for the environment?

How many of the 900 million iPhones in the wild have Qi chargers? I guarantee you it is a TINY fraction.

Nope. I might if a MagSafe puck was in every iPhone box, but it isn’t. Purchasing Apple’s charging solution is completely optional and it will definitely not have the same take rate as the phones.
You know what would be environmentally friendly? Switching to USB C, so you can use your MacBook, and iPad charger. Or any other if the other brands.

Received the clear Apple case and it is a fingerprint magnet. Won’t be keeping that and will wait for the leather cases. Makes no sense Apple did not come out with the leather cases when the phones were released.

Will be returning my wallet case too when that comes. Why have a case that won’t stay on. If that is true, very big fail.
Maybe they were surprised by the phone release and weren't at all ready for it? ;)
