Yes, they show as paused, and I can see the http address of the radio cast. I click the arrow to start it up again and it won't, it just goes back to a paused state. I have to unlock and bring up Safari (if I have left it at the home Screen) or if I left Safari in focus I have to refresh the page. The way it's acting I think it's a Safari issue with Bluetooth connections, or maybe this particular cast. I would expect that is a buggier scenario than the music app with Bluetooth.

That sucks. I've been frustrated by that before, just from random audio streams I've listened to from Safari. But I don't listen to audio through Safari too often.

The Wall Street Journal's review of the airpods includes a useful comparison between 7 competitors in the wireless in-ear earbuds at the bottom of the review.

I've used them quite heavily for over a day now. For me, the right one fits perfectly. Never moves and can't even tell it's there most of the time. The left one feels a bit looser, but it never falls or moves much. This morning I did the usual 30 minute strength training and then 30 minute treadmill run. They were perfect the whole time. No movement. I got a bit nervous as my one friend who can't use the EarPods tried the AirPods, and they worked well, except the left one would fall out while running about once every 10 minutes. The wife who find the EarPods fall out too frequently was able to use them for a 30 minute run without issue. I thought for sure she was going to have a tough time with them. She was quite excited to use them too.
It makes sense, for me, to always use a strap with AirPods when working out or intense activity.

It's easy enough to take out of the ear, when talking to someone, and have the pod dangle without having to hold it.

It's a habit formed with other headsets.

Spend some time with the airpods, and I think we will be amazed we even put up with wires around "wireless" headphones, or that we even need to manually pause music.

If you prefer to use a strap with them, then I say go for it. I absolutely got annoyed by having a strap/wire between the buds several years ago. I've been using Jaybirds for workouts and running for 5.5 years now. And the one thing that always bugged me was the wire on my neck. It would slowly pull one way or the other and I constantly found myself adjusting it. Adjusting a cord that would dangle and pull (wired earbuds) nearly 10 years ago is what first drove me to look at Bluetooth options for running.

Anyway, I've done 4 workouts with the AirPods so far, up to an hour for each one. I'm extremely happy with them at this point. So easy to use single ear or both ears, zero wires, and extremely convenient when switching between the watch and phone.

I've done 4 workouts also: strengthening, running, skiing and jacuzzi. The Jacuzzi counts although not so strenuous.

I wear a cap and looping the Airpods strap to the back makes it practical to wear.

For those of you who actually have a new pair of Airpods. What are your thoughts about sound quality? If you've used previous bluetooth pods from the likes of Jaybird, Bose, Sony, or another company I would really be interested in how you think they compare. I'm really considering getting a pair of Jaybirds for Christmas, but if the Airpods are close in sound quality then I might reconsider.

Having used Jaybirds for 5.5 years, I'm very happy with the sound quality of the AirPods. Honestly, I think they sound excellent (but that's obviously a very subjective opinion). I always thought the Jaybirds sounded excellent as well. I'm not an audiophile by any means, but I do notice the Jaybirds and AirPods have different sounds, and I can't quite put into words on how to explain the differences.

If you're very particular when it comes to sound, maybe try them both out if possible and then decide.

The jacuzzi! Yes, lol that's a great place that a cord holding onto them would be beneficial. I love skiing, but that would make me nervous and another good example for place to use a cord for extra security.

For what it's worth, I just did an outdoor run with the AirPods and watch only. Bit cold here so I had a had on that covered the AirPods. I honestly couldn't even tell I had anything in my ears. Quite comfortable in that regard, and with the volume turned up the music sounded excellent.

Get earmuffs.

I did and bought another one.

Ah, I've been running for years through the winter and very cold temperatures. I have a hat that works perfectly and even more nicely it held the AirPods perfectly in place. No chance I'm changing that now.

very happy with the sound generally. I think for general gym use and walking around town or going to work they are good sound wise.

there are times when i will want more sound which is why i have brought the beats solo3 for christmas for when i want louder sound.

Hi,
I received mine last Thursday.
Music, Videos and FaceTime sound great.
Only issue I have is when using Siri. Her responses are in very low sound quality.
It's the same on iPhone 7, iPad Air 2 and MacBook Pro.
Has anyone noticed the same?
Apple support can't help in this case.

Merry Christmas from Germany to all of you!

For those of you using a strap, you have to take it off each time you put them back in the case, no?
So can you recommend a strap that will hold up being taken off and on all the time?

A strap will only make them to fall out of your ears easier. It's the weight or the force from the straps that will make them fall out.

Just wondering though, have you actually used a strap or just assuming they will fall out? The reason I ask is because I've seen some very thin silicone straps on Amazon for them.

What's the difference with a strap and wires? Not much.
Yes I have tested Spigen's strap and my experience is that they don't help anything.
In reality they are a nuisance because you have to take them on and off when charging.

Are you kidding me?
One is just a LOOP and the other one you are totally tethered to a device!
I'm done with this!

Have you tested or are your comments only guesses?
The fact is that there is no difference because it's the wheight of the strap or cable that makes the AirPods/EarPods to fall out of the ears.
Do you really think i care if you're done with it or not
