That's genius! Put a powerbank with solar panel on the back of an iPhone.
I mean I get that some rich people spend money on expensive watches and similar stuff as status symbol (of their wealth), but that's not the case with this device as it's neither looking good nor actually useful.
Result: Floor broken. (Phone can't be any uglier, so we don't care about that.)

NOT ACTUALLY USEFUL?!?!?! IT CAN SOLARLY CHARGE IN 30 HOURS!!!!!!!! boy, will you be sorry while slowly succumbing to the unbearable sahara heat, unable to tweet for help!

I have a solar panel just like that. I got it for $15-30. It was a b-day gift. I can velcro it to the back of my iPhone X? or pay $4000? umm...

Where do you live that you have 30-straight hours of sunshine? ;-)

Is it really inspired by Elon Musk? Tesla name is definitely not something Musk invented.

Hey Dan, I really like your video and learn a lot. What I am most thankful for is the fact that the iphone box in the background is finally turned right side up! brought a smile to my face, and thank you for not triggering my OCD during this video

I'm really confused why this costs so much? It looks like it was made on a cheap 3D printer at home? You can get manufactured solar powered battery cases for $20 on Aliexpress

Well that's insane AND stupid. For people that literally have $4400 to burn before breakfast.

A separate battery pack charger with solar panel is questionable but at least not completely stupid.
A wireless charger with a battery bank and solar cells doesn't make a lot of sense but wouldn't be insanely stupid like this.

30 hours to charge. So if you're stuck in the middle of the ocean or camping and are really bad at planning such that you forgot to bring an extra battery or decent solar charger (that max out at around $50 on amazon for most) . . . and you want it permanently stuck to your phone.

Agreed! The absolute only reason to have a solar charger on a phone is for those in dire situations or more obviously for those camping or the like. Like you mentioned an excellent solar charger can be had cheap and you can use it to charge a myriad of things (not just the phone like this joke of an idea). 30+ hours and it negates wireless charging in the tradeoff. Lol! This thing is an absolute ripoff....and ugly as hell
[doublepost=1543466434][/doublepost]But but, it has "a premium unboxing experience". hahahaha

How do they dare to use the Tesla company name? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tesla_(Czechoslovak_company)

Not only did Elon already dragged its name in the mud but now these guys?

Seriously though, I think that a backpack with a much larger solar panel will be more useful than this. And in places you would need such a thing, being able to power more than your phone would be probably useful.

That must be the crappiest looking "solar-powerbank" I've ever seen!
And for some unknown reason the most expensive.
I could have made a thinner and better looking one with a 3D-printer, a slim iPhone 8 Plus battery, and a generic solar-panel in the right size for a hundred dollars total.

What do I think... I think this is the dumbest thing I've ever seen. It literally makes zero sense in just about every way possible. Only a total moron would actually buy one, in my humble opinion.

...or you could buy this for $25 and use a few rubber bands to hold it to your phone.

LOL... Well Done! I love the telescoping antenna!

I got right up to the part where "any modifications to to the phone are entirely safe" part

For $4,400 sounds more like a gen 1..

30 hours to charge... Just make sure you have plenty of free time available.
