Just wait and get the comply. Wish I would have waited.
Sorry I missed your original reply. Good to know, thanks! Are comply known for making good tips? I haven't gone this deep into the audio world until recent years. I'm not an audiophile, but appreciate quality sound and especially better noise reduction. I started working from home a little over a month before everyone else because I got a new job working remotely and my wife also has a daycare and while the soundproofing that I did implement when building my studio seems to help, it's still not enough. I also tend to wear my AirPods Pro all day long so comfort is a must. The AirPods tips aren't bad for me though, but I feel like I need a size between medium and large. My ears have always been really weird about earbuds. When I game I use over the hear headphones and ultimately I might just end up buying the Apple Airphones or whatever their over the ear thing was rumored to be called, especially if the noise reduction is increased even more. But I would still choose the AirPods Pro all the time for when I'm working out or doing yard work.

Same. I have switched between the small and the medium tips and when I first put them on it’s fine. But eventually I can feel them slowly slipping out. My regular AirPods always stay in place once. My fear is losing them since replacement costs are high relative to the purchase price of a new set.

Agree - the normal AirPods don’t slip out like the Pro’s do. I like everything about the Pro’s except how they slip. They feel fine like they’ll stay in when I initially insert them, but then they just start slipping out over time. Hopefully the foam has enough expansion to grip better than the standard Apple tips.

I have been happy with comply tips in the past. I am a normal day to day user.

9th party stuff is where the discounts really start appearing.
Combine that with the 99% off discount sales they do, and we are talking.

On topic:
I love comply earbuds. I'm debating whether I should go with them for the AirPod Pros though. Silicone tips work fine for me as it is, even when exercising.

I have no issues with the apple silicone ones but ordered a set to try. in a way I kind of like black as I'm hoping they won't show as much grime as the white. (also the 2 tone looks pretty cool)

Yay - at last a viable Airpods Pro modification for the elderly! Apple really doesn't cater for the older demographic much. Here's a fact known to all old people that apparently is lost on Apple. As you get older, your hair actually recedes back into your scalp and eventually re-emerges through your nose and ears ;-). That hair makes for a totally lousy seal with the Airpods Pro - the noise cancellation is greatly reduced and they keep sliding out. Compressed foam that has had a chance to expand in your geriatric ear canal provides much better noise isolation and the earphones stay in better. I'm all in for a pair!

If fit is not an issue I would not. Comply can increase isolation but when compared to the silicone it will soften the highs somewhat IME.

Has anyone tried these? https://www.charjenpro.com/products/airfoamspro?variant=33078966878345

It seems like it's difficult for some of these companies to get their foam white enough so that's probably why the ones in this article are black. But the gray ones from Charjen look like they might be good so I might try them out. I'm still not getting a good seal from mine, just always a low rumble in the background and a yellow warning when I test the fit on my iPhone. It's by no means bad and I like them way better than the original AirPods but still mildly annoying.

Has Apple patented the way these connect? Are companies able to make MFi compliant ear tips or is it not allowed? If not Apple really needs to get that sorted because I don't want some tips that will easily come off because they aren't allowed to click into place. That's patent trolling at it's worst.

Did you get a good seal initially when you bought them, but it's worsened over time? Some people have been having a problem (not directly related to the tips) that's affected noise cancelling, even though it was great to begin with.

I got a set from damonlight on Amazon right after I got my AirPods Pro back in February. Work great, feel great, fit in the charger great. Not sure why author says people have been modding, now they don’t have to. Sounds like a sponsored article. No problem with that except sponsorship should be disclosed. I can’t believe the author is simply not aware that these products have been around for quite some time (probably at the same time AirPods Pro were released)

If I am using Large Apple ear tips would I use Large Comply tips also or do I go down a size?

You would use the same size, I’ve been using the comply foams for a couple months during their controlled rollout/beta. They are amazing and fix all the problems I was having with the AirPod pros, I get a much better seal with the foams and they don’t back out like the silicon tips. Apple should include these with the AirPod pros.

Thank you. I got some foam tips from podaccessories that seem to work ok but ill give Comply a try.

Wait for a third party to make some that are 95% as good and 30% the price.

There were already no name 3rd party foam tips for sale on Amazon, eBay and AliExpress and all Made in China.
Each pair was ~$6-10 Each so it's almost comparable to Comply's price.

At least these make a good competitive alternative to apple’s own tip replacement strategy
When it comes to the cost of replacing the tips, Apple blows Comply out of the water.

If you buy AppleCare+ for Earphones for $29, Apple will replace damaged tips free of charge any time during the two-year period of coverage.

If you were to buy a new three-pack of Comply tips every four months for two years, you would spend $150 plus shipping. (Under normal use, Comply tips only last two to four months before falling apart, a fact that Comply itself has acknowledged.)

Of course, if Apple's tips aren't to a person's liking, then Comply might be the (albeit, much more expensive) way to go.

I love comply tips. The normal tips either made my ears itch and/or didn't fit really well. The comply comfort tips were usable for hours. Manufacturers should just include them stock...but they'd have to charge more I guess.

Honest question: Is anyone concerned about them not snapping into place? I’d like to give these a try, but not snapping in has me a bit concerned.

Yes, I was excited to buy these until I saw that bit

The Comply tips don't have the same snap-in connector that Apple's default silicone tips have, which is worth noting. You need to be sure to attach the Comply tips properly to make sure the tips don't accidentally come off.

That is a dealbreaker. I had a pair of $FAMOUSBRAND in-ear earphones. They had little plastic tips that could be swapped out with foam ones. I used the plastic tips, then one day, I pulled the earphone out and the tip stuck in my ear. DEEP in my ear. I had to go to the Emergency Room to have it removed. The Doctor said, "Hm.. not sure how to code this.. Oh. 'Foreign object in Ear.'" I laughed. But I am not laughing about headphones that could result in a Foreign Object in Ear. No way.

Third-party tips for AirPod pros have been available for many, many months, including foam tips. I have purchased quite a few because Apple’s tips don’t seat very well in my ear canals. Unfortunately, neither do the foam tips. In fact, the foam continues to exert expansive pressure inside my ear and will occasionally drop out of my ear and entirely without warning

I have used these on some Beats X. Whilst they were very good they didn’t last long. The foam wears. So in the end went back to silicone.

This is a really good observation. And I question how long these ‘foam tips’ would last versus gel tips. The problem with foam, I think it eventually will distort where gel seems to retain its form for extended usage. I actually really like Apple gel tips, If I had kept my AirPod Pros, I definitely would be willing to try this product to see if that made a difference in terms of comfortability.
