Who cares? This isn't even a public feature yet. Wait until things are actually released before reporting on them...

I guess if you don't have airpods anymore, this feature is useful.
See what I did there ?
I guess if you don't care that you don't have AirPods anymore, this feature is useless.

See what I undid there?

Not really trying to make a point, just playin'. ;)

Not reassuring to developers when Apple can steal your idea and remove your app. In fairness, Apple should've licensed the other app along with f.lux and countless others.

The idea of changing the tone has been around for a long time. I could do this on monitors before f.lux. Photo editing programs have been around for ages and could do this. The idea is not new.

I guess Apple can't do this for everything, so if u loose the case for the pods,, away from the pods themselves... then your stuffed..

This almost makes me think Apple has a great srevice to "find lost items" using an app and iCloud, will we start seeing finding just about every Apple product u own all from the comfort of your lounge chair. ?

This update is free, you don't have to pay for anything.
It's not free. I had to buy an iPhone, which Apple reports as revenue over a 2 year period. From what I can tell that means I put the money into a non-intrest bearing account that can not be refunded in order to make payments for the device over a 24 month period. It a tax thing they started doing years ago to allow them to add features. Remember the MacBooks and iMacs that had the hardware for the then new 802.11n WIFI spec, but they charged $1.99 to get because "it wasn't a feature that was there"?* Or how about their explination for why the iPod touch user had to pay $19.99 to upgrade the OS for the first few years?** So, from the way they play the game, I paid for it. Which means they used their power in the marked to stifle competition and make more money.

When you buy a computer(PC), generally you had to buy a new version of windows in the past. (W10 excepted). While Microsoft gave you updates and service packs, going from XP to Vista to 7 cost some amount of money. Apple gives you 5 years of ios updates included in the price.

(I buy my phones outright)

You know, I have one simple request for iOS 10.4. And that's to have AirPods with frickin' lasers attached so that I can kill anyone who steals my AirPods. And you're telling me that can't be done. Can you remind me what I pay you people for here-honestly, throw me a bone here.

Am I the only person who thinks Apple spent the better part of the year working on a half-backed, overpriced, lame looking headphones while abandoning the iMac?

I would prefer to pay as Microsoft gives me an option to downgrade and there is no planned obsolescence crap built into the products. There is nothing free in this world. The price of iOS upgrades is the atrocious device slowdown every year which leads you into buying the next iPhone. So indirectly you are paying for it one way or another

There arent any night shift alternatives on Windows

Further proof of Apple's monopoly with the app store on iOS.

Don't forget the emojis and watch bands. The funny thing about here airpods is that despite being an iPhone accessory its going to generate more revenue than the Apple Watch being on the market for less than a year.Shows how much of a flop Tim's product was

Incorrect. You didn't have to buy anything. The update, iOS 10.3, is free. Everything else is your responsibility.

This thread is about a feature on this update, which is free with that update. If you have an issue with how Apple sells the phone, that thread is somewhere over <not anywhere close to here>.

No kidding. I forgot about the other "incredible" inventions. I cannot stand these ******** emoticons. Texting before? Receive a text, glance, respond with one touch. Texting now? Get a text, wait for the bubble to do it's thing. Wait for the thing to collapse into a message. Scratch. Get message. Run over a pedestrian. Kill a puppy with your bumper. Wrap the car around the nearest tree. Read message. Respond. Ask yourself "Why Tim? Why did you make me kill a man... and a puppy." Sell iPhone to make bail. Fuuuuuuu....

Apple's strategy. Step one. Make headphones that look like Ben Stiller's ear dripping ejaculate * that is sure to be lost precisely 0.0003 seconds after you unbox it. Step two. Create a software tool to help you find this **** and act like you saved the day. Nicely played, Apple. Nicely played.

*it's movie reference. Look it up. I don't have the time to explain. What, do you have small hands or something?**

**earlier post reference. Look it up. :D

Nice feature with battery being the only concern

Nothing could be further from the truth. If you don't have Airpods this app gives you a reason to buy some.

What......buy a Mac Pro bud, cause the app also lets you locate that :)

This app is called find my iPhone.

You forgot to state "In your opinion."

I tried this feature out to be disappointed that it never found any Airpods. Whatsoever. Turns out I never owned a pair in the first place and had kept my hard earned cash for something worthwhile. What a relief! ;)
