PSA: You can use a FSA/HSA (tax advantaged account) to get an :apple:Watch with a note from a doctor.

I thought my son wanted my S6, but said no thanks he probably would never wear it! Can't believe it. He's got an Apple M1 Pro and iPad, exercises and hikes in the desert. Maybe I'll see what the trade in value is after the Apple "Unleashed" event today. At least that's good timing.

You know, you really can just let other people like what they like without trying to convert them to what you like.
I worked at the fruit stand. It's instinctive 😂

It's more about, "Hey, you realize you've got this awesome feature on your watch with no downsides right?"

It's me or the new S7 crown sounds more clicky when pressed? I had a S4 and it was almost silent.

How on earth are you getting 30 hours? I have an S5 that was setup as new. I don’t use any 3rd party apps and use a black background watch face to conserve power. All it does through the day is provide notifications and as a workout tracker for 90 mins. I take it off the charger at 8am and by 10pm it’s in the red zone - 10% battery. Extrapolating that’s about 15 hours tops
I just did another test with my AW S4.
  1. 24 hours ago, I charged up.
  2. I did sleep tracking.
  3. just did a 40 minute run tracked with GPS.
  4. At 24 hours, I’m at 24% charge.

That comes out to a little more than 30 hours total, though I don’t usually run it down that low..

I have been feeling like my S4 battery has been getting a little weaker over the last couple of months. Once of the reasons, I’m considering upgrading. I don’t know why my S4 gets better battery life than your S5 but maybe the always on display is part of it.

PSA: for FSA where you can’t invest, sure. HSA you’re better off investing the $$ and then recouping it much later down the road as there’s no expiry for receipts to reimburse oneself :)

I’m at 56% after a full day (checking on Watch pretty consistent per usual and also had a few work outs due to commute aka fast walking). The AOD definitely takes more battery then the series 4 without but I’m ok with it. I like the option for now though may switch over to no AOD down the line… just feels weird not to have a face watch now that I have the option but, it’s also just for me and it still rises to wake so.

I upgraded from 4 to 7 and you really can notice the difference, specially the always-on and the 45mm screen increase. People is focused on “new health sensors” but let’s be honest, I’m a medical student, and 90% of the people don’t understand the meaning of those results and really don’t care about them. Hold on an upgrade just because the “health sensors” it’s just a stupidity, we all use more the screen than the health sensors.
oddly enough the cardiologist I paid a visit to post Covid vaccine used my Watch data as initial data And not have to wait the 38 days to receive the heart monitor data.
funny the first concrete Indication there was something wrong was the Watch. Living alone the Watch data was critical information for my doctor and me.
Me, I would take a medical/health sensor over a larger screen or device design any day.

Does anyone know of the Magnetic Charging Dock or the MagSafe Duo supports fast charging? With USB-C and a 18-20 watt brick, of course.
Did you ever get an answer to this question? I have the same question (about the Magnetic Charging Dock).
