my company just sent me a new MBP power supply with a USB-C to lightning cable. Not going to charge my Mac...Precisely why I’m not buying till next year. I’m done with lightning.

The original Air Pod Pros also showed in the battery widget in iOS 15. It showed the case and both stems. It’s in the battery widget on your phone. AirPods Max has always had this (assuming you’re in their vicinity of course), I put that down to the APM being always on.
As per og post, I assumed it was down to the U1 chip, but since remembered AirPods Max don’t have a U1 chip.
Still, the feature is handy.
EU regulation or not, the assumption that USB-C is coming to everything next year reminds me of last year about this year.
Yep, but only with the lid open, earpieces in case, or the earpieces actively in use (and then no case battery indicator). The original Air Pod Pros also showed in the battery widget in iOS 15. It showed the case and both stems.
I generally agree about next year, but I wouldn’t bank on it, and don’t see the iPad as having any relevance to this argument given history.Next year has legs like no other year before it.
And will be even further solidified when the cheap iPad has usb c in a month.

Not what I said. You don’t see a continued shift from lightning to usb c down to the cheapest price points as having any relevance? Lol
they have different use cases indeedVery nice, but I'm happier with my AirPods Max. I don't really use AirPods outdoors.
Maybe next year...
The automatic switching should only happens if you start to play something with audio on another device. If it doesn't work well for your needs you can ways turn off the automatic switching. I have it set to automatically switching between iPhone and iPad but manually on Mac.I upgraded from the first generation AirPods so the differences are staggering! The noise cancellation was immediately noticeable and almost creepily accurate. I had a loud fan next to a window and it reduced it to a barely noticeable hiss. Extremely impressive! The only thing I had trouble with was it switching from my MBP to iPhone. I have it set for automatic switching but as I playing music in Spotify I checked my phone for a notification and it switched to my iPhone which was a bit annoying. Regardless, this is an absolute killer upgrade from my 1st gen AirPods.
I like treble and always select treble booster in equaliser settings. These are definitely worth the upgrade! Transparency mode is absolutely bonkers how good it is. I wish they’d open up the treble a bit more in a future update, they’re a little bit bass heavy out of the box. It was certainly worth the - 3 year - wait imo!
Thanks for the tip. Definitely something I’ll be looking into.I like treble and always select treble booster in equaliser settings.
I don’t quite understand this argument of, no usb-c, no purchase “. I get that it’s frustrating, but the iPhone itself still requires lightning. And if you only use wireless charging because you really dislike/hate lightning so much, the APP2 will work with (seemingly) any wireless charger that works on the phone, plus the watch charger. I’m honestly curious why lightning only would make you not but a product.Precisely why I’m not buying till next year. I’m done with lightning.
