You do realise that all your examples are just silly?
Car without essentials? The Watch comes with a cable to charge it so what is the issue here?

You just seem to create an issue for no reason.
Read it again, please.
NON essential.
You are the one creating an issue.

Sigh...having to resort to personal attacks, mate?
Same as people defending every jerk move Apple is doing right now.

Apple could have easily put a voucher label on the inside of the box for whoever that needs a charger to claim one at the Apple store.
That may increase the shipping weight by like what? 2 grams?
But nope, they are going to make the customers pay for something to make it work.

Imagine new vehicles being sold without all of the non essential fluid topped off and the automaker says because everyone has a bottle of washer fluid at home.

I don’t have problem with including voucher in the box. In fact it is a good idea, much better idea than what Apple is doing now. Still comparing producing charging brick for many who don‘t need it to curing rare diseases is ridiculous.

It was not the best comparison on that one.
No point for me to cry over spilled milk.

But I find it very ridiculous that some people here will defend just about every jerk move Apple does.
Guess some of them are happily getting ripped off. 🤔

There is no need to justify and defend everything Apple does.
There’s no need to bitch and moan about everything Apple does.

1) It’s not a “jerk move”. Apple’s right here, you just disagree. That’s ok, you don’t have to agree; it changes nothing either way 🤷‍♂️

2) Nobody’s getting ripped off. Apple added features including pulse oximetry and a bigger battery—yet kept the price the same. That’s not a ripoff, is it?

Would you have preferred a price increase instead? Or maybe you just want something for nothing?

Just because the box once included an adapter doesn’t mean you’re entitled to that adapter every year. That goes for the Watch and iPhone, and adapter and headphones.

So, you are saying a tire on a new car is optional?
The watch will simply not work without a charger after 18 hours, right?
Come on, how can people really defend Apple on this...
If you think bringing in new feature without raising the price mean they can take out an essential accessory, look at the "improvements" between iPhone 6S, 7 and 8.
Did they raise the price? Did they add new features? Did they take out the charger?

Does aluminum looks too cheap compare to the other models?

Not in my personal experience.

I’ve owned the Series 4, Series 5 and I have the Series 6 that arrived today.

Those people I’ve met that are interested in the Apple Watch have only ever complimented it with absolutely no one coming up to me and saying something like, “Oh I see you’ve only got the entry-level Apple Watch, you pauper”.

Not that I would be worried if they did, of course, I don’t surround myself with people like that.

Lets not forget that the Sp02 sensor can be fooled by CO. Carbon Monoxide will also give a high O2 saturation reading but the oxygen isn’t getting to the tissues. When too much carbon monoxide is in the air, your body replaces the oxygen in your red blood cells with carbon monoxide. The oxygen / carbon dioxide exchange fails in the capillaries and so too in the lung alveoli.

Aside from analogies and beyond the fact that there's little doubt Apple is correct, most of their customers have multiple AC power "bricks," there's the fact that the Apple Watch requires an iPhone. So, a customer should have at least the 5W Apple USB charge "brick." What about the new Family Setup? Again, most households have multiple USB chargers but even if they didn't, a quick search of a few large chain US retailers turned up affordable products price from $10 to $15 (1, 2, 3) -- you don't need an Apple USB charger, it's the cable that's most important and Apple Watch requires very little power to charge, plus you can use a computer or most other devices with a USB port.

The same can't be said for not including a power "brick" with iPhone. Would most have a problem? Probably not, including myself. However, unlike the Apple Watch, the iPhone can stand alone -- my recollection is Apple removed the computer requirement for set up at least a few years back. Is that enough to prevent Apple from axing the charging block/brick from the iPhone packaging? I don't know, but that's to be discussed more thoroughly in another thread. I bring it up because the rumor is what ignited the anger on the topic for many.

- So for any new customers (whether it is their first iPhone or they just come into the country), if they happen to need to charge both the phone and the watch at the same time, then they are screwed with having to buy an extra piece of accessory for a lovely price of $19. Got it.
Could have included a voucher to claim a charger if needed, but nope. Gonna rob the customers $19 for a piece of essential equipment that costs less than a dollar to make (the cost is per someone in previous pages).

- Non-Apple chargers? Didn't we see in the news that they might catch on fire? Is Apple ready for that?

Meanwhile, as of right now, the iPhone still comes with a charger in the box, hence the discussion is simply surrounding rumors.

The defend of Apple's greed and bad behaviors are going strong here. 😨

Or wait. :: gasp :: I know, how dare we be required to disconnect or tethered for a few hours. Shameful. /s

I have a 10W Apple USB charger and Lightning to USB cable in my kitchen to charge my iPad and iPhone when necessary, an Anker PowerPort Qi charger on my bed/nightstand, and a USB charger and micro USB cable in the corner of the formal living room for charging headphones, earphones, external batteries, etc. I still haven't unwrapped the charger and cable that came with my 6th gen iPad. So, occasionally, do my iPhone and iPad compete for a charger? Yes. Could/should I use the other set I have when that occurs? I could. But I don't want any more cables, err charging stations lying around nor do I need to. I make do. Just the same that I find alternatives and patience for my iPad to charge for four hours rather than say one.

I have no objection to the voucher idea/suggestion.

I don't recall that specifically. I've read about occasional/rare battery defects/mishandling that caused fires. Nonetheless, read the reviews of Anker, Griffin, and many other well-known name chargers from various retailers and you'll see plenty have had great experiences and even prefer them over Apple's offerings, especially regarding price.

I by no means intend to imply Apple isn't as greedy as any other corporation, nor are they for the customer. However, I do feel, agree with some others, that some of these complaints are quite petty -- though they've jokingly referred to them in as "first world problems."

Ultimately, you're/we're not always going to get your/our way, so it's important to pick battles wisely.

It is great that you can afford so many different chargers. Not everyone is as fortunate and Apple skipping out on an essential part is hurting the consumers.
Do I have spare ones at home? Yes, and I hand out/donated to people I know that needed them. I have never thrown out a working one.
Apple's move this time is not the best that they can do, especially claiming it is only for the environment.

Except for the Anker Qi charger, the chargers and cables I use are from devices I've purchased over the years. In fact, the charger brick I'm using in the kitchen is the one included with my iPad 2. I just multipurpose them the best I can, currently, one brick and cable for each device connector type. I realize that's probably not feasible for family households but it is for me.

I don't recall ever throwing out a charging brick. I have replaced a few charging cables because I carelessly caught them in the vacuum cleaner. Anyway, so, you do admit you as well support (at least Apple's environmental) reasoning.

I don't think most disagree with that. However, removing the AC brick isn't entirely greed either and has arguable merit. And, perhaps -- long shot probably -- Apple will do it differently if they are truly considering a similar act with the iPhone/iPad.

Don't get me wrong. I am in support for the environment, but in Apple's case, it appears more like greed (the charger is still retailing at $19 and main reason below). Let the consumer decide what they want to do with the extra charger if it is actually extra. Hence I suggested the voucher inside the box idea.
I want to believe people will be environment-conscious and only claim it as needed.

In regards to the iPhone's case though, that is a harder pill to swallow. They only switched from the 5W charger last year and is rumored to ditch it this year? This is one of the main reason causing me to believe this move is Apple's greed.

Who is this poor unfortunate soul who can somehow afford a non-essential $400 smartwatch but can’t afford a charger? Do you have a link to their gofundme?

I’m very happy with the blue AW6 with blue standard strap. I’ve stuck with the space grey for all my Apple devices for ten years and this is a nice change. The moment it booted up I noticed the brighter screen. Having heart disease and carrying four stents around in my heart I find having access to the ECG and now the blood oxygen sensor adds some reassurance. I’ve no complaints and am happy to have upgraded from S5.

I’ll probably order the blue silicon band.
you've missed out if all you have had is space grey products. there's so many nice colours out there.

You do realize people gift, right?
Some health insurance company also offer the Apple Watch.

One could use the same charger that one uses with their iPhones, which are likely to be around when one owns an Apple Watch.

Again, totally missed the point of gift.
Additionally, good job on replying an 8 month old post.

It made no sense 8 months ago and it doesn’t now.

Again not missing anything. You can only use watch with iPhone. Required. You need to charge iPhone hence you have the charger at hand - or nothing works.

Electronics now ship without chargers as we all have then. The Kindle method for more more than a decade.

It seems such a hard concept to understand about gifting. Not sure how to get you on the same page. You are QUOTING that very specific message already.
Not every one has an iPhone.

Not every one has an iPhone.

Then that person cannot use Apple Watch as that’s a requirement. And that’s not a concept but a fact.

And does the new iPhone come with a charger?
That is not a concept but a fact.
This is simply Apple's greed, plain and simple.

Yup these are all well established facts that these aren’t included. But, if you have a working phone, which is a requirement, you can reuse the charger.

Damn time these landfill products are not thrown out for free anymore.
