So they removed features, continue to keep displays with PWM, iOS 13 is behind competitors in features and this has virtually the same design as phones from the past 2 years but this is supposed to be a “Pro” model? Wow.
I’m guessing you didn’t buy one. If you did, you knew the specs and features well ahead of time. Can’t folks get therapists to vent their resentments on here? The grandstanding is tiresome. And where are these phones produced by all these innovative “competitors”? Ever tried navigating a clumsy Android phone? If you prefer exploding Samsungs or arcane manufacturers with folding keyboards, then why are you posting on an Apple-based forum?

I have a slight red/green color blindness. I see red, I see green. Just not certain shades of them. The midnight green looks a little darker than space gray, but still just gray. I have been trying to "will" my eyes into seeing the green for days. I just can't make it happen. :(

Apple's decision to not continue to support older phones like my 6 isn't appreciated but it got the results they wanted in that I updated to be able to continue to get security updates and the other benefits of iOS13 and later. I am indeed a photographer and am looking forward to the new camera(s) but I do think it would be better for Apple to continue to support older hardware. 256gb 11 Pro Max is on the way. Wanted red. Got grey :).

I am freaking loving this IP 11 Max but 10 seconds after taking it out of the box and putting a case on it and I feel is too heavy- way heavier than my previous 8+. I am all for more battery but I don't know what they are going to do next year with the tech we are expecting to get

Using the new 'Transfer to Phone' option to wireless transfer from my Xs Max to 11 Pro Max. I have about 60 GB used on my old phone and it says about an hour to complete, 15 minutes later now at 31 minutes. Both phones are unusable while transfering fyi (still getting notifications though).

Upgraded for the battery, new wide camera (I take a lot of landscape shots), camera software updates (i.e. night mode), and I was offered $600 for my phone when I owed $677 so nbd.

don't take this wrong way but how long do they need to support old hardware? the iphone 6 has 1GB of memory and a very slow/outdated processor - to retrofit IOS 13 there would be very hard. Just getting IOS 13 to current phones, watches and IPads it's getting crazy with the multiple release dates and IOS 13 remains quite buggy - My company is not touching it until we get to IOS 13.2

Only tested a brief amount but it looks like the ability of the pro max to pull in a cell signal stinks as much as it did on the Xs max. Oh well was hoping for different but its not a surprise.

Can you continue testing and reply back? I have a qualcomm iPhone X and i refuse to give it up if the 11 is plagued by the same issues that the XS and XS max had.

I plan on sticking with my iPhone X for a 3rd year. I usually find a reason to upgrade every 1-2 years but I'm not seeing it with this year's release. The notch is still too big, the bezels are too big, no bilateral charging, the "fidget-spinner" style camera design is visually gaudy and unappealing, and no Touch ID baked into the display. For all intents and purposes my IPX still works great. Hopefully we'll see a new phone next year with a smaller notch, smaller bezels, and bilateral charging. I'll be in line on release day. :)

Uhh... "just a bit thicker"? ... It's thicker than the iPhone SE bruh

(I WELCOME it tho.. 🙏😩)

"Midnight green is greener on camera than it looks in real life, and in some lighting, it's quite similar to space gray." Could be closer to Military Olive Drab and be considered a subtle Apple salute to the military.

Got my Midnight Green 11 Pro today and I couldn’t agree more! Under some lighting you have to really look hard for that green shade. I still like it as I’ve always been a Space Gray user anyways.

Question: On an iPhone 11 is there a way to turn off the Face ID IR emitter so there's no IR strobing?
Using a passcode instead.

It comes down to what $1000 means to you. To some, it’s a lot. To others, it’s a good amount. To others, it’s not worth a second thought. I wanted to buy it just for the battery life improvement over the X and to my surprise when my wife went to pick up hers, she somehow convinced the guy to sell her a new midnight green in store even though Apple said it was sold out so now I have one and I think it’s worth the money.

I upgraded from an iPhone 7 to an iPhone 11 and just a few hours in the upgrade feels truly worthwhile.

You’re the perfect candidate to upgrade for the iPhone 11. Why? Because you have an iPhone that doesn’t have nearly the amount of technology the iPhone 11 has. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve read that the iPhone 11 is ‘nothing more than an incremental update’, but all that matters is, what device is somebody upgrading from that would make it a major upgrade, in your case, that’s a substantial upgrade. For those who own an iPhone X or even XS, this is not the target phone Apple is trying to provoke those to upgrade to.

The definition of "incremental" like "innovation" is personal and moving. The iphone 11 is an "incremental" upgrade from say the iphone 6/6s/7 but in this case the increment is a chasm the size of the Grand Canyon. ;)

No kidding. I personally have no lost love for Samsung phones but nor do I waste my time going to any Samsung/Android forums bashing it.

Better to wait for iPhone 12 series that will potentially come with Qualcomm radio, have in-screen Touch ID, no or smaller notch, reverse wireless charging, better new color options than green, more DRAM and base storage, pencil support, etc.
