I grew to hate the iPhone 6 design for the many many years it was on the market as 6S, 7, 8 and now SE. Thick bezels make it physically larger for its small screen size.

I would have loved to see Apple actually make a smaller, proper budget phone rather than recycling its old crap. I don't see any point in buying the SE when 200 euros more buys the iPhone XS in my country. I have the XS and it's just a much, much better phone as an overall package.

I’m sure I’m going to love it since I’m getting it through Walmart for $199.

Tried to get another on their deal which goes until June 17, but they’re out and you can’t backorder.

So how is that a deal until June 17?

Oh, look! As soon as I typed that, I went and checked and it was available again.

MacRumors, you’re magic!

These days I only watch one or two reviews: MKBHD and The Verge and that’s it. Those two give you pretty much all the details you need. It appears Apple and other smart phone vendors are letting the reviewers keep the reviewer units, because I noticed WSJ and Dieter Bohn had other models of the Galaxy and iPhone to compare it to.

I only watch iJustine, because I love her hair flick.

I get enough information about phones from sites like this.

There is something very desirable about this phone. Apple nailed it. For $400, has the fastest processor available in a smartphone, wireless charging, IP67, fantastic camera, Apple Pay and iOS access with updates for at least 4 years. Bezels don’t bother me. The phone would literally give me just about the same exact experience my 11 Pro does day to day.

Black version arrived today. Its surprised that the auto setup using my iPhone 7 failed. Had to do a manual restore. Two hours later I'm up and running.

Thank you for for petting the dogs. Especially the one that wanted the belly rub. It was bothering me that I could see they wanted attention and I couldn’t pet them. Lol I miss the dog parks.

How compatible is it with older accessories? I am wondering if the battery case for the iPhone 7 would work with this? I imagine you might be able to find one for cheap, since it's already so many years old. You will lose the wireless charging, but it would help with the poor battery life of said device.

So how are you FaceID fans liking that tech in the new era of face masks?

It's true. It's quite troublesome. So let's hope that apple comes out with FaceID AND under the glass fingerprint next year and gives us the best of both worlds. But if no need for a Mask or Gloves, I'll take FaceID over TouchID.

As for this phone. Seems like a really decent device. I reckon it'll be hugely popular in Asia, especially Japan where many people still use an iphone 6/7/8. The price point is appealing for many I'd say.

great. Don’t buy it. You miss the point of Apple retaining the form factor - to keep it cheap. I think it’s the best move they have made since the original SE.

FaceID doesn’t work with the required face masks these days, so that’s kind of a mute point. I prefer FaceID over TouchID, but I would rather have FaceID and TouchID in the display to use either to unlock and/or for purchases.

I have not tried, but if you use FaceID and scan ones face with a mask on would it work. I am aware for those wearing glasses their have to do this for greater success.

I can overlook the smaller battery and some echo on certain calls, because it’s mostly a work phone (IDC if I have to charge more frequently.)

I love the size and it’s just fine for what I do and what I need.

A little bummed I did not use it as my personal phone, but I’ll live.

I love the red color (I wish they’d make Macs in this shade of red). Glad I upgraded from the 8+.

I like the red too, but wonder if I would get tired of it because it's too "loud".
