Hands-On With the New Nike+ Apple Watch Series 4

I was swayed towards Nike+ model due to that black sport loop with reflective yarn. Watch faces are okay and Nike+ run club up is hit or miss for me as far as reliable functionality is concerned. I already have the old all Black Nike Sport Loop so this one on a bigger Apple Watch will do just fine. I can let my girl wear the band I have now

Does the Nike+ app on the Nike+ Watch actually work? I tried the app on my Series 1 but if I started a run on my watch it wouldn’t record the route and if I started a run on my phone it wouldn’t record my heart rate from the watch. In the end I uninstalled and just use Apple’s build in app.
I want to know the same thing. The NRC app has never worked properly on my Series 2 Nike+ watch, and each time Nike updates the app, it gets even worse.

The aluminum doesn’t deliver for me in terms of aesthetics and ultimately I feel it’s too light on the wrist. The stainless, Abeit, it is very expensive, it does deliver feeling more substantial from the added weight and the Sapphire display.

I don't know why people like these any more than the regular watch but more power to them I suppose.
The nike band is the dealbreaker for me. I started off with the sports loop for my series 2 watch, but found that the band would irritate my wrist and cause rashes after some time. Bought a nike band and the irritation went away, so the holes apparently do have a noticeable effect on air circulation and sweat dissipation.

Yeah too bad I couldn’t wait out either, because the Nike AW is better for the fact it has extra faces, which doesn’t hurt. Bit of a shame you can’t download those faces to a regular watch if you, say, join Nike+ or even as a reward for running a 5K with it or something. Apple should definitely do some improvements on the flexibility of the faces situation. Faces store when.

I would love to get my hands on SS version (just for sapphire screen) , but price is too damn high, plus I cannot get use of cellular where I am from. It's Nike version then.

Had the Nike model last generation. Still using the nike sport band with my AW4 now.
I like it a lot, because it's easy to clean and has holes which let the skin breathe.

But never used the nike watchfaces, which is why i went for the SS model this time around.
I have the original SS. Which one do you like better the aluminum or the SS for the price difference. I’m leaning toward SS. Thanks

Picked up 44mm space gray w/ sport loop today in Chandler, AZ. Returned the 44mm gold w/ milanese. I'm really liking the weight, nike faces, along w/ the reflective band. The gold had a nice color to it but I'm saving $300 by going w/ the non cellular version. This one goes with more bands too.

Looking at the istocknow website the Nike watches are the last ones to sell as a matter of fact the apple store close to me had 5 Nike watches this morning and only one has sold.

They are sold out in Michigan. At least within 200 miles of my house. I preordered the cellular Nike 44mm 3 weeks ago thru Best Buy and they didn’t receive any today. Pretty bummed
Target, apple store all show November now for Nike cellular models. Wtf apple

The Apple store closest to me had the one I want available for pickup earlier in the day, but decided I’ll probably wait for when they go on sale at Best Buy, Target or the Nike Store. My S1 will do fine until then.

Just got mine and set it up. What a difference this display makes! Chose info/modular watch Face. Couldn’t find a setup that I could live with on infograph and that’s fine. The sport loop is smaller than previous one and the black/reflective yarn is low key

A Nike logo branding within the watch, SJ would definitely getting out from his graveyard. Next thing carriers logo on iPhones.

You might be interested to know that it was Steve Jobs that began the Apple + Nike co-branding partnership with the iPod. Here's the press release from 2006: https://www.apple.com/newsroom/2006/05/23Nike-and-Apple-Team-Up-to-Launch-Nike-iPod/

EDIT: Looks like others beat me to this. At any rate, this wasn't the only example of SJ co-branding. When he thought it benefitted Apple, he was a fan. Pretty sure he'd love what Tim has done with the Watch.

The Hermès edition is still the watch to have. Although it’s still highly irritating that one can’t just pony up some cash for additional faces. Such a miss by Apple.

The only problem I had was activating the cellular feature in the Apple Store. Came home, called AT&T and a pair of technicians were able to fix it in a couple minutes. It feels different than the Series 3. Hey I really like the new infograph faces. 5.01 installed within 30 minutes.

I had the same problem with the original elastomer bands. I'd sweat and the skin under the band would itch a lot. I have allergic reactions to latex. The Nike band with the holes gives me enough air circulation that I don't get the wrist irritations.

Got mine today in-store with plenty left. I guess the answer to your question is, yes!
It really seems to depend on where you live. In Germany there never seem to be any in stock - at least in the Frankfurt area. And when you order now it says ready for pickup mid November. So outside the US there can still be serious shortages in availability. When I walked into a store last week they told me they are even short on Apple watch 3 with only two models left. Since the price drop even the 3 has gained in popularity. If our region is anything to go by this will be a massive quarter for the watch.
