I get atypical migraines with an occasional seizure component from pwm from some of my iPhone displays as well as other triggers that many migraines sufferers share.

So I am not joking when I say the light show that phone produced for this video can be migraine and/or seizure inducing. Fortunately I have a trick of shutting one eye to stave off this sort of visual trigger. Perhaps it’s made worse when viewed on an iPhone display. I hope it’s not this obnoxious in person.

Otherwise, I hate this phone just for that reason alone. Which is a shame because I like Android and I can see why one like this is a good offering.

Can’t watch the video, maybe it explains it, but what’s with the octopus?

Can someone clarify what specific need(s) and/or problem(s) does this phone solves/addresses beyond being just another device for the Android crowd?

So exciting seeing Nothing continue to embrace their vision of how tech design can be fun. The light system can be considered gimmicky, yes, but the overall design (especially the transparent back) is truly unique and stands out against the other slab-style phones in this era. It's one of the more visually appealing pieces of hardware, and their spin on Android looks well-though out and cohesive too. I hope I can get the chance to play with one/see some out in the wild soon!

Sure the lights may be a little gimmicky but it is still an overall nice phone for the price. I just checked on Amazon and the Nothing 1 can be had for $378 which is a bargain for what it is. I have been humoring the idea of getting a second phone as a backup. Might consider this Android but then again its a wee bit to big for my tastes.

I prefer iOS and almost everything Apple but have no problem using Android devices as expendable burner devices. Android phones can be had for dirt cheap and when used with prepay MVNOs they can cost next to nothing.
If you go traveling or do a lot of outdoor stuff having a cheap expendable Android device can serve its purpose. I would rather have my Android destroyed, lost or stolen than my precious iOS devices.

Is it just me or the LED design on the back looks like the Apple logo mixed with Magsafe design?

You know smartphones have peeked when transparent back cover, childish lights and “funny” naming are the main selling points.

Nothing to see here...

Apparently, the Nothing phone carries Nothing.

That's a big nothing

My next phone when Apple goes out of businesso_O

Is the "Nothing Phone" a Nothing Burger?

Same can be said for any iPhone update. There is nothing substantial changed since iPhone X. I like other company trying and it is fun phone tbh. I don't understand the hate towards something you guys will never buy.

There is no hate. Mine had sarcasm involved.

Love the phone and the company seems to do things outside of the box which I do love. Hoping they have more success and I hope they continue to make the phones. The problem is the phone makes me feel like Nothing which is what it’s supposed to do! 🖤

Photos look awful, phone is ugly, back lights are useless (specially while using a case). OS style is terrible, I don’t see the point of this to be honest.

I like it. I tried to set icons on my Pixel black and white...the backlights can be customized to tell you lots of info, i.e. battery level, push notifications (reminds me old notifications indicator light).

They said they sold 800K in their first try, remember this is only 2 years old comnay and 800K isn't too bad for any smaller startup company. To these 800K people, they see the point.

Only 5 million pixel phones sold in 2022, while Apple sold 40 million iPhones just in holiday 2022.

So what is your point. I have owned all Nexus phone and every generation Pixel phones. It is smaller compare to iPhone, but if I have to choose between Pixel and iPhone, I choose Pixel any given day.
