It reads just like a modern day MR thread. Replace iPod with iPhone XS (or the previous X) and it wouldn't look out of place at all.
Another similar thread, that I don't have the link to, is the iPhone 4 leak thread. I remember everyone in the thread complaining how ugly it was, that it couldn't be real because it had visible threads, yet now those same people gush over it as being "z0Mg t3h best iFOne dezine evar1!1"
