Calling it now, either the September or likely the October Keynote will present a redesigned iMac. Likely slimmed down bezels and similar to the Thunderbolt Display's design. Otherwise the minor spec bump versions would've been released alongside the new MBP's.
They must be planning something special for this year. I have wondered about getting one, but I made a vow to avoid desktops, but that 27 inch is really gorgeous.
The iMac was the first product to be born out of Apple’s design-led culture.

I used to think that, for several years, but not anymore. They must be planning something special for this year. I have wondered about getting one, but I made a vow to avoid desktops, but that 27 inch is really gorgeous.
Sometimes, when a product has matured into something that cannot significantly be improved-upon, there really IS no reason to update the external packaging.Congrats Apple. But seriously the iMacs design hasn’t changed since 2004.
If you want your iMac to look like a tower computer turned sideways with a display glued on the side, sure.iMac Pro: all-in-one octopus. You may be fine hanging stuff off your computer that belongs inside the case, I'm not.
2018 MacBook Pro: still has the emoji keyboard, which is a solution looking for a problem. Moreover, there is no more current model with real keys, not even a castrated one.
My favorite ad for the original iMac: "There is no Step Three..."We had one of the original Bondi Blue iMacs. I remember Jobs' line, something like 'Out of the box, booted up and on the internet in less than 10 minutes', which was unheard of at the time.
Emacs were fugly, mostly because of the flat-face design. Looked like it had gotten punched in the face, LOL!Not 128GB MacRumours - wasn't it 10GB? I had one for my degree and that damn hard drive failed half way through my dissertation!!!!! Cost £200 in 2003 to replace the drive.
The plastic case of the iMac was very prone to cracking.
Very innovative design at the time - kind of really ugly but cute. Now the Emac was the ugliest thing ever wasn't it.
Where are the Dinosaurs?I remember playing Nanosaur on it.
You cannot be serious. Look at buyers guide and see why he/she said that.Computers are ignored? How so? Then what was the debut of the iMac Pro and 2018 MacBook Pro then in under the last year?
I know plastic really isn't in vogue these days, but it would be nice to see Apple have some fun with their products.
Maybe some colorized, anodized aluminum iMacs as homage? They definitely need to put out some more colors for the iPhone lines.
No SCSI! No ADB! No expansion slots! No floppy!
USB isn't mature enough to really solely on it!
Steve Jobs wouldn’t have ever allowed this!
Oh wait...
