Find My Brick uses Zigbee instead of NFC like Dimensions.

It uses hubs similar to Philips Hue but cheaper because you need 3 per room.

The bricks are charged wirelessly.

They gave up on biodegradability.

Really HyperDrive? This is ridiculous. Only one Firewire 400 and 800 port? No eSATA? No component RGB? No ExpressCard/34? I get not including a 5.25" floppy drive, but not to include a zip drive is a tragedy. And no Blu-Ray in 2019? Holy forking shorts batman!

Eh, no FireWire, no ADB and no SCSI = no deal.

This is the entire list they put on their site:

  • 9 x USB-C
  • 9 x USB-A
  • 2 x microSD
  • 2 x SD
  • 1 x 3.5mm Audio Jack
  • 1 x HDMI
  • 2 x DisplayPort
  • 1 x Mini DVI
  • 1 x VGA
  • 1 x Ethernet
  • 1 x Modem RJ-11
  • 1 x Optical Audio “Toslink”
  • 1 x Firewire 400
  • 1 x Firewire 800
  • 2 x RCA
  • 1 x Parallel Port
  • 1 x Serial Port
  • 1 x PS/2
  • 1 x AT Port
  • 1 x 3.5” Floppy Disk Drive
But it seems inaccurate. I seem to spot a USB-B port, which is not listed. I don't know what the big port seems to be... SCSI is the closest, but not really. Then the second SD card slot is bigger, but not thicker so can't be CF.
Also they have 2 sets of RCA connectors, which are not listed and have odd colouring. One is standard, yellow, white and red. The other has black, white yellow?
A parallel port is listed but not seen. Serial port is listed, but not seen. I do see 2 VGA connections.
The RJ 11 listed seems to be and RJ45, I think both would come in handy.
This is a mess!
Not to get me started on the lack of optical media and diskettes and cassettes, how am I supposed to load my Sinclair collection?
And you know what is the worst offender? No kensington lock. Imagine buying them for an entire classroom, all just to find out they have been stolen in the first week of school?

Where is 2x eSATA? No sale without it, seriously!

The BoothE is giving me serious Buddha Box vibes.

What, only ONE HDMI? Nope, hard pass. I need at least 10!

And it weighs how much?:D
