I forget sometimes how it was...

Everytime I go to my dad's and help him with his PC and Vista the nightmares all come back. After a 1 1/2 years of Mac OS you can forget how torturous Windoze can be. It's like plodding through wet cement. Augh.

Love hearing about all your purchases... As a MacJunkie it helps take the edge off. Oh and as far as learning the new OS, it won't take long because all your time will be spent learning... not fixing, rebooting, restarting, defragging, etc. Have fun.

that is SO TRUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
when i have install or uninstall or do a system settting change, i have to reboot PC........with pro tools i had to reboot 3 to 4 times and do this with every usb port...........sigh..........and you just sit there looking at it waiting.......so demoralising and depressing.

i bought my first mac....black macbook last week.........my life has changed.
its not been hard at all. to learn leopard. with the help from this site, ive never had to call apple support. no crash. everythng has beed running smooth. perfect. i was gonna wait till september but .........i wanted one so just bought it.......and now im getting to work on it. i dont like sleeping anymore. cause thats less time with mac.

how long can i expect it to last for???????????

in pc land, computers need fixing every year or two.

me and my mac are ONE.

Yeah, once you go OS X, there is no going back. :D

Yes I went ahead and bought the newest Macbook as well. It's a screamer with 4gb ram in it. If the rumors are true about a new metal Macbook then I will be less inclined to upgrade. The plastic case is one reason why I decided to bite now. I have no problems with mine and the wireless N works great. I agree the imac went "south" with the advent of a glossy screen. Glossy screens are much less expensive to produce (which is why most computers have gone to them now - remember the good old days of computing when a matte screen was all you could get?). I have an iMac 2.16 which is the last generation with the matte screen. Just love it.

i agree with you, i just got it bumped to 4GB ram from Kingston, it actually "screams" as in the fans go crazy. LOL. thats only video converting and such. and glossy screens are too bad, they make the screen look better right? the expensive solution isnt always the best solution in the case of the lcd manufacturing process. :D
