Anyone else notice that VD stands for both "Valentine's Day" and "venereal disease"? ;)
Interesting, I was taught that it's better to call them STIs (sexually transmitted infections). :p

SilentPanda that 'card' is so cute!

vniow, I'm not a huge choco-fan but I do love me some chocolate covered macadamia nuts that have the added "rice crispy." Drool.

Valentine's Day sucks. The only people I get cards from are my mom and one of my aunts.
I got two card for valentines day. One from my mom. One from my mother-in-law. Take note of who I didn't get one from...

I know a couple who celebrates it a week later, since it's easier to get into restaurants, smaller crowds at venues, the flowers are cheaper, the chocolate is all discounted, etc. As long as we're all brain washed, we might as well be smart about it
That's what we do. Only were a little less cultured about it. We wait until the next day. That way all the leftover candy is still in the store.

The only thing I miss about being single was the tradition that one of my old roommates passed on to me (and which I now pass on to all of you). The evening was spent watching Rocky. Each year we would rotate between the four.

Apparently you and I are the only ones who do, my boss brought them to work for all the office to eat but no one else liked them so they were essentially all mine. :p

And who did I not get one from as well????? Sheesh... like the pot calling the kettle black or something....

I'm married, and I still say V-Day is a worthless holiday.... but flowers are always nice regardless of which day it is. :D

Yeah, my econ/govt teacher wished me "happy VD" today....

yeah, he's a little more than slightly very creepy.

Here's some cards for all of you out there :D :p

Very cool! Does it have a mushy and romantic engraving?

Was it a bit to early in the morning for a headshot? Just kidding, I'm sure you look nice at any time of day

^^ Awesome gift Blue! :D I was completely and utterly spoiled by my man this year (well, really, ALL the time ). One gorgeous red long stemmed rose from my favorite florist. An adorable card. And a Baskin Robbin's ice cream cake (just my way-- jamocha ice cream and chocolate cake). Not to mention other articles of clothing he ordered but hasn't arrived yet (nothing dirty! fleeces! Yay!).

Great gifts Blue and devilot!

I got a rather fabulous mac design on my t-shirt, and I drew a monkey on his. :D

Thanks Katie and Lau. *sniff* I was sooo touched that he remembered that I'd never gotten a 'photo' cake and ached for one with the two of us (from like, 3 years ago, :p)!

Lau, that shirt is adorable!! Any chance you can post a pic of the one you drew? Psst, I think it's particularly amusing that Liam's in tune w/ your Mac-kyness. :D

I know! Most amusing. Here's his - it's a monkey in a pub drinking paint.....

There is a reason for this. :D A while ago, when I was being particularly stupid about something, he said "Have you been drinking paint at college again?". I made some sarcastic remark back, and he made a comment about how I must be feeling very "emulsional" at the moment. This has started off an entire thing between us for bad puns, which pleases me hugely. :)

So, due to the "emulsional" nature of Valentines day, I did this. It's a monkey, because, you know, everyone loves a monkey, Liam in particular.

Oh my gosh. You are so talented! I want it! Haha, the monkey is both hillarious and adorable!!! Makes me wonder, does your man appreciate/recognize your creative genius?!

that shirt idea is terribly cute Lau! great job on the monkey too.

so devilot, did you have a hard time cutting the cake and eating it? that's also really a cute idea. [awwwwwwwww]

i am so happy i'm an iPod person now (it's my first one if you can believe it) no sappy engravings or anything by the way. it's exactly how apple sold it but the battery is now charged. in fact neither one of us are quite sure how to operate it yet. i feel like the worlds biggest dumbass about it too, but i'm sure i'll get it figured out soon. i've had a massive headache for 3 days and haven't had the patience to even try. and yeah, i was grinning like a dufus when that picture was taken and i didn't feel like sharing that - so the head was cropped right out. :p

uh, i don't think so. (on both counts)

I do. Of course it's a crass generalisation, but most people who drive Subarus and BMWs (usually kitted out like rally cars and with 'kickin' stereos') are knob-heads. At least in the UK - it might be different in the US.

From my experience, it's a bit different here in the States... for Subarus at least. Usually, it's the outdoorsy type or the type who live in rugged or snowy areas, that have them. I have yet to see one kitted out (unless it was a WRX). The Legacy, Outback, and Forrester just seem to be more of your regular vehicle with a bit more outdoorsly look. I had a Legacy sedan. It was nothing special to look at (except to its owner) , but it handled very well, in general.
