The thing that bothers me about the removal of 3D Touch form the phones is now Apple's product lines operate inconsistently. The Apple Watch UI requires you to use 3D Touch to access functions in many apps.
So, now, the phone and the watch UIs behave differently for deeper functionality access. Very un-Apple like!
Obviously, the removal of 3D Touch was a cost savings measure.
They just need something to complain about. 3D Touch was the most unused feature released and was never even available on the iPad. If this feature is so used, where have the complaints it’s not available on the iPad been for the past 4 or 5 years. They changed how it works slightly and those that never heard of it start whining because it changed for the sake of change. Those that did use it complain because the menu is different. It’s not like the feature is gone. They just changed how it functions. Seriously not as big of a deal as it’s made out to be on this thread. Why are so many people surprised and angry apple took away something you liked?
That’s just a changed version of how it always was with the magnifier, which isn’t the same as using the trackpad functionality and isn’t really related to 3D Touch or Haptic Touch. You can just drag cursor now on iOS 13. It’s A LOT easier.
The underlying implication there being that somehow other companies don’t do something like that? Why are so many people surprised and angry apple took away something you liked?
By that measure anything and everything anyone would complain anywhere at anytime would be that. Which is basically neither here nor there really. They just need something to complain about.
I never liked 3D Touch. It never seemed to work correctly for me. The XR not having it was a contributing factor towards choosing it last year. I'm really happy that they're ditching it altogether now.
That’s exactly what people are doing complaining about everything. I just read a news article about viewers being outraged over the way a host of a TV show broke a KitKat bar and how wrong it was. Outraged... really! Over a KitKat bar? Ugh this world. So yeah they are complaining about anything and everything. It’s to the point people & corporations stop listening which becomes ineffective for solving real issues. Because no one knows what the real issues are. That’s just a changed version of how it always was with the magnifier, which isn’t the same as using the trackpad functionality and isn’t really related to 3D Touch or Haptic Touch.

Well, just because there might be a whole range of things out there, doesn't mean that everything falls into just one part/side of it, even if a variety of things do. Again, that's all really neither here nor there. That’s exactly what people are doing complaining about everything. My ‘work’ iPhone is the 8 Plus. Let me tell ya😁....
I use 3D Touch everyday. Peek/Pop for notifications/emails/third party apps/photos, ect. It’s a brilliant feature. The problem with 3D Touch on why it failed.....was because Apples lack there of marketing. Most consumers had no idea what 3D was or how to use it. And for those who actually understood 3D and how to execute it, appreciated for everything it had to offer. Apple dropped the ball per se, because if they actually had taken more initiative to make 3D Touch marketed properly, I think it would have had a larger welcoming of its intended features.
MAN I AM SO MAD THEY GOT RID OF 3D TOUCH! Sorry for the all caps but I'm pretty upset. Haptic doesn't work as well. Also how long have we been without the bubble popup when selecting text with your finger? I'm having hella trouble with this how.

Monday’s complaint was “These daily updates are out of control“ last I checked 3 updates in 9 days isn’t daily as I seem to be missing 6 updates for it to be daily.
There are some valid complaints for iOS 13. But Haptic Touch and updates to fix the real problems certainly aren’t valid complaints.
It’s still there. Can anyone confirm if the 3d touch app switcher (hard press on left hand side of screen) was removed on ios 13 for the older iphones like 6s,7 and 8. Im still on ios 12 and reluctant to update because of this as i use it all the time. Thanks in advance
3D touch has a certain intuitive feel and responsiveness to it. I've compared my iPhone 8 to an iPhone 11 and there is a subtle but noticeable difference in the experience of using haptic touch vs 3D touch.just about everything 3D touch could do can be done with long touch.
3D touch was a gimmick from the start to claim "innovation"
It is already thicker and heavier.Should never have killed it and made the phone a bit thicker instead so it still keeps the new battery increase.
They went backwards with this move.
If you are using iOS 13, you don’t have 3D Touch on your 6S.I'm glad this article exists; hopefully won't have to keep explaining to people that they're not exactly the same.
Still enjoying 3D touch on my 6S, by the wayOne of Apple's few innovations in recent history.
