Don't have a 6/6+. But I have the version of this case for my iPhone 5 https://www.tech21.com/classic-shell-with-cover-case-for-iphone-6-plus-clear/

The 3DO material surrounding all edges and front in back help absorb any impacts. Also the back is honeycombed to strengthen it. While I've never exposed my phone to heavy forces, I think this case could survive if it is in your pocket and happen to bump into a desk corner.

What are you waiting for

The phone won't bend itself!;)

Seriously you have much more self control than I. I would have opened up that package immediately...I wish I could say for sure that you weren't going to experience any bending or any issues at all but I really don't think you should deprive yourself if you really are that worried get yourself apple care and enjoy your new phone.

I have my iPhone 6 sitting on my table still wrapped. I'm deciding whether to use it or return it. I was planning on slapping it in an Otterbox Commuter anyway, would this do the trick?

Is there any real way of avoiding this problem?

its more of the type of case being used... take the Candyshells for example: snapping them in and having to pry the case off to get the phone out...may contribute to the phone bending...

the bend behind the glass is consistent with the way the phone faces when in the case and prying off...

Just a warning with the commuter, sometimes stuff gets in there between the case and phone so you need to remove the phone from time to time to get any debris out, and getting the phone out of the case without tweaking it can be a problem (the case literally grips the phone tightest right under the volume controls where we all know it's most prone to bending.) I was sure I bent my 6 removing it from the commuter case, but fortunately it wasn't permanently bent. I've decided I just don't have the stomach to own the new 6, I'll go back to my 5 so I don't spend every minute worrying about my phone...

Is it an hard case? Is it hard enough to prevent the bend?

Yeah it's a rigid plastic with a rubberised band for shock protection around the edges.

As a demo in store for it when I picked up my upgrades a few weeks ago the sales assitant had a 6 in the case and literally threw it onto tiled floor and it bounced on the tiles and out the shop door onto concrete slabs on the pavement outside and the case was a little scuffed but the phone was perfect.

Will it stop it bending ... I don't know but I think it's worth a shot

I'm personally waiting for a slider case...

with those snap on hard cases, unless you'll never remove the case, taking them off requires "prying" them off, which is consistent with the bend direction; facing away from the glass side...

notice how a lot of people with bent phones claim they been using cases...

just a theory...I could be wrong.

When I received my 6 Plus, with one look I knew I was going to have to change my case habits as some of the really rigid cases that I have always used like Candyshell are hard to pry off and the force/twisting could obviously bend such a thin aluminum frame.

Another thought - an issue with the rigid slider cases is that they can scratch the aluminum sides as you take the case on and off. My husband started out with one of the Platinum cases from Best Buy (only one available on launch). When he removed it to put his phone in an Apple leather replacement, I noticed some rubbing on the aluminum edges. He didn't see it (not as OCD as me, thank goodness!) but it was there. I didn't say a word.

I'm sticking with soft flexible cases like TPU or Apple leather and just being more careful with my phone this go-round. Hopefully Apple will work on the structural integrity on the next iteration of their flagship phone. It is kind of ridiculous to even be having to discuss this issue. Some practicality is in order at Apple House of Design.

Hi guys, I actually made my research and I still can't find exactly what I need. I'm actually looking for a real rigid case that will prevent my Iphone 6 plus to bend if it's in my front pocket. Most of the "hard case" examples I see on youtube review/some review websites, are still bendable on some level. I'm looking for something really hard like in metal case or something but nothing looks like that it's not bendable from what I saw yet.

Any help would be really grateful! Thanks in advance!

How about one of these, a Mophie battery case?

yeah, but do you wear it in your front pocket?

I wear mine in my front pocket every day and have since day one. I have both the
Silicone case ( light blue ) and the leather case ( dark blue). No bending. That's because you have to use Incredible Hulk strength to bend these phones. I'm more inclined to think that people are sitting on their $1,000 iPhones which really boggles my mind.

thats why you need to wait for a decent slider case... iFrogz stopped making them and I remember their sliders do scratch phones... Incase sliders are better quality...

this. only drawback is it's tough to open it.

True but I have found starting at the bottom corners seems to work well. Not easy though. Part of the reason the black UAG has become my more frequent case. Although I change more frequently than I should. :)

have you done a review for it? i would be interested to read about your view..on it.

I would highly recommend UAG cases. I have had mine on my 6+ for weeks and I am definitely not careful with it. Took it out of the case today and it is perfectly straight. I love how thin it is for being a rugged case.

Agree

I've been using wallet type cases since I got my 6 Plus and have been carrying it in my front pocket of jeans, khaki's, slacks, sharing same pocket with my slimy wallet, not taking it out when driving, leaving it in when sitting at my desk at the office most of the time, regular in/out of front pocket...without any bend issues. I never had to put my phone in my back pocket so I (hope) won't be sitting on my phone anytime soon.

Ordered this Eazewell Anti-Bend Braced Frame iPhone 6 Plus Case

Ordered a Eazewell Anti-Bend Braced Frame iPhone 6 Plus Case from Amazon but haven't put it on yet. Feels pretty sturdy, but honestly haven't felt the need to swap out my Boriyuan leather folio case yet and the other night my wife (she has the Spigen Neo Hybrid Protective on her 6 Plus) went out for the evening and while having a great time I did notice a couple of moments where I was not paying attention to my phone in my front pocket and later checked the phone out of the case and no issues at all...:)

Cool idea but that will turn my 6 Plus into a Macro iPhone 4S.
Towards the end of the 4S life span, I grew tired of the brick feeling of the phone.
I really like the curves and round feeling of the 6Plus in my hand. Even with the Apple Leather Case, it feels great in the hand.

But man, that Eazewell looks like a tank-vault case.
Let us know what you think of it.
