To update... current stats:

Usage: 1 hr, 22 min
Standby: 6 hrs, 28 min
Current battery level: 82%

I'm incredibly happy with that! And that's with AOD on (indoors, mostly in a dimly lit room, FWIW).
Current stats for today:

Usage: 2 hrs, 12 min
Standby: 11 hrs, 33 min
Battery level left: 61%

AOD on. WatchOS 6.01.

This is now in line with my S3 and (watchOS 5.x) S4. Very happy! This should last approx. 24 hours, which is more than enough for me.

Well I haven’t done much today but I’m at about 11 hours off the charge on my series 4 and I’m at 77%. So it’s pretty good.

Much improved following 13.1/6.0.1... was running ~4%/hr up to 5 before updates.

So far today:

Series 5 44 m non cellular.. AOD on, raise to wake on, noise monitoring on... infographic face.. no workouts/ no GPS

Usage 2hr 37min
Standby 13 hours 27 min
Battery at 60% or 2.9%/hr
Plenty of room for workouts/ heavier usage. I am using my old Series 2 for sleep monitoring- so I feel set. Great upgrade from the 2!

12 hours later I’m at 58% It’s pretty good considering it includes a few walks. So there is some improvement but I’ll monitor to see if it is a sustained pattern.

Do any of you guys do workouts while streaming music on cellular. I have the cellular one and it seems all the cellular ones are having the most problems. I take mine off charger at 10:30am and by 1 have 60% after my workouts and music. I do not take my phone with me.

Definitely an improvement. 12 hours and I was 78%. No exercise. AW 5 gps.

My wife’s AW 5 just got the latest update tonight so she will test tomorrow. Without update her watch died at work today. I expect much better for her tomorrow with update.

anyone on the 6.1 beta lose all of the default replies when responding to a text? they dont appear anymore even after a bunch of reboots.

No my data isn’t active. But I can imagine data takes up a lot of battery life given the battery is pretty small and data draws a lot of power. I would get an external charger if needed to stream and work out for more than 2hrs. I’d need to charge there after if I had to head to work.

I was using a S5 but took it back. My S4 tanked once I updated it, but it is MUCH better on 6.0.1. I’ve had it on for 16 hours with an hour workout (no cellular) and it is at 36%

S4 in Theatre Mode and Airplane Mode. I do this to test battery without external variables. Battery is performing well with this update. This is directly after installing update:

You're at 68% after a day with Airplane Mode and Theater Mode on? That's pretty terrible I have to say. I don't even get that low after ~14 hours of full use with everything enabled on my S3. I get a LOT of notifications throughout the day as well.

I have 2x series 5, me and my wife. Wife is 6.0.1 and I am in beta 6.1. We have 1 common thing turn off the noise detection. Her’s 6.0.1 battery drain more then mine 6.1 and she don’t work out daily which I am. We will wake up 6.30am morning and and walk our boy to school, work and come back around 9.30pm. Hers will only left with 10-13% battery where mine left with 45%. Both IOS is 13.1.2. And it been 2 day straight same result even before 6.0.1. I think Apple need to release the watchOS 6.1 quick.

usage is 2 hours and 64% mean about 6% usage. With nothing turn off?
Not as good As watchOS 6.1

Which face are you guys using? I kind of think that California full screen (Black background) seems to drain a lot more battery than, say, the Meridian face. I'm not sure why as it only has two complications but it looks that way to me

This is my first full day with 6.0.1

Off the charger at 7:01AM. It is 9:54AM now. 98% !!!!!!!

Now, that is MUCH, MUCH better!!!

I've kind thought it was just me thinking that. I seem to save a lot more battery when I changed it back to modular. SG S4 40mm gps

Lol I'm glad that those who aren't doing any workouts on their watch are getting pretty good battery life. The watch is designed for fitness and unfortunately when you use it for such it sucks the battery dry pretty quick, unless you turn AOD off which is kind of the point with this watch.

My battery issue has been other than workouts, and I typically do three or four ~45 minute outdoor runs per week without my phone, streaming music over cellular.

Typically this drains about 20-25% of the battery. That's how it was with my S4, and that's roughly what I'm seeing with my S5 so far (with AOD on).

Yesterday was an anomaly with 31% drain on 6.0.1. I'll see what today's run brings.

Are they cellular? I think most bat problems are cell related.

I have S5 Cellular, my first one so nothing to compare to but ur stories. I do 1 indoor workout with cellular for 1.5 hours a day. But I also play softball everyday and coach a little league team 3 days a week. So I am always moving. Lots of wrist raises. I noticed I would be at 60-50% by 1pm and would barely make it to 8pm. It has died on me once since release.

I updated to 6.0.1, changed faces to no color. Saw little improvement. This morning I unpaired and paired and turned off wake with wrist raise. Took off charger at 7am and is 1.5 hours later and still at 100%! Now this is what I like. Although I’m not sure if unpairing it or wake with wrist raise is helping! I assume wake with wrist cause I am always moving my arms and not use to the watch yet. The big downfall is when I get a notification I can’t just raise and see it, I have to raise and tap! Ughhhh. I hope 6.1 will help me or maybe I’m just too much of a wrist raiser.

have you tried just moving the playlists to the watch so you don’t have to stream? If it’s Apple Music.

Typically my streaming is a back-episode of the PodRunner running music podcast, but I also do plenty with locally stored music playlists as well.

I don't mind the 20-25% battery usage for an outdoor run given all that's being asked of the watch. Yesterday's 31% was an anomaly. Today was a 20% drop.

I understand. S3 in my estimation is 30% + better battery life then S4.

Really? I would have thought the S4 should have been better. Does the larger screen make that much of a negative difference?

I don't remember what the issue was but maybe larger screen area and if I remember correctly, its a little bit thinner so possibly smaller battery?
