Why not ? I'm being completely serious. however, I don't expect to actually receive it, I'm sure Apple will step in before they ship them out.

Fair play then, you did, took it from this :p you were playing.

To be honest if you get it I think you've just flushed your cash down the tube.

I think this really says it all:

But forgive me for being a bit sceptical, but isn't it far, far more important whether the company has been around, has a reputation, and is going to deliver a machine? Isn't it?

And now they're not accepting orders because they can't process credit cards?

http://www.psystar.com/shop.html

Anyone else looked at that link I provided and read the comments? Especially the Florida corporate filing? No state tax number, registered address are all the same which leads to some house in a suburb. This was verified by a relative who lives in the area.

I asked them to drive around and look at the address. I was going to ask them to knock on the house and say "I'm looking for Psystar, I'd like a computer" but he said that might provoke something if it was true.

Please note that installing Tiger on a Hackintosh and installing Leopard are two different beasts. I personally would NOT recommend going the Tiger route. The updates that come down for Leopard may require you to spend some time in Terminal but it is still the much easier and most compatible route.

It also seems that Psystar is in violation of the license for the EFI emulator, which specifically doesn't allow commercial distribution. There is an article at http://www.theregister.com about that:

Adding this to several other Psystar Threads.

Here's the link to the actual articles:

Edit:

The plot thickens, Psystar may not have been a real company to begin with!

Hmmmm

Edit:
So not only do we have shady ordering system (non-secure), inability to accept credit cards or some error (clearly falls in line with shady ordering system), funky street address, violating one EULA, and now violating and flat out stealing from another user.

Are they going to challange the author of the EFI V8 Emulator now? Are they going to use the Honda example to bypass this violation as well?

Something smells like a MySpace teenager who sees this as a joke and is getting a good laugh.

I hope for someone else's sake no CC number/info was given to these guys. But if you feel freaky, by all means hand over your "Name as it appears on your CC", CC number, Exp Date, and security number, billing address, all that good info. No ones stopping you.

***Update***

http://computerworld.com/action/art...legal_issues&articleId=9078198&taxonomyId=146

Note the paragraph:
A man who answered the phone at CottonImages said there were two other businesses at the 10481 NW 28th St. address, but PsyStar, or any other computer company, is not among them. "I don't know how they got this address," said the spokesman, who declined to give his name.

After a brief hold, he returned and said he had been told to refer all questions about PsyStar to the same e-mail address the Mac clone maker has been handing out. The spokesman flatly denied any link between CottonImages and PsyStar.
