Why do you tell others what to do?Why there are so many posts about using this with windows??
If you want full window experience for gaming, use another monitor or use parallels for anything else.
People will figure out how to use the tech without your instructionsBecause this is Mac forum and there are more questions on PC than Mac.
If you want to use the XDR just use it with a Mac only.

Mine has been working with a Mac and on a PC through an adapter for several years. I understand that it is hardly possible to get a power of TB 5 and 120 hertz are unlikely to work, but what about HDR mode and its recognition in Windows?
it's totally possible to get 5K@120 HDR on Windows or Linux but since this is very new monitor it uses some DP profiles which haven't been used before so there are some issues with GPU drivers. Currently it might work at 5K@120, or 5K@60, or 4K@60, or even 1080p@60. All depending on GPU vendor and drivers version.I understand that it is hardly possible to get a power of TB 5 and 120 hertz are unlikely to work
Which cables are you referring to? The Cable Matters bi-directional DisplayPort to USB-C cable?it's totally possible to get 5K@120 HDR on Windows or Linux but since this is very new monitor it uses some DP profiles which haven't been used before so there are some issues with GPU drivers. That also means we cannot tell you how this monitor will work with your personal PC. Because we don't know.
looks like it's misquotation. Did you mean asking @Pezimak ?Which cables are you referring to? The Cable Matters bi-directional DisplayPort to USB-C cable?

I’ve also come across the VR-style combo cables that merge DisplayPort and USB-C, which can carry things like audio, camera, and other data. From what I’ve seen, though, those are mostly used with displays like the older Pro Display XDR or Studio Display, and most of the examples online involve Windows or Linux setups over Thunderbolt.
Also curious to see if anyone here on Bazzite/CachyOS/Nobara and HDR support with this display.
4080 doesn't support DP 2.1 so DP 1.4 will be used instead. If a cable is rated for DP 1.4 (usually such cables marked as "8K60") it definitely will be working with Studio XDR. Would you get 5K120? It's another question. But the answer will rather depend on GPU drivers and not cable.but I doubt it can handle 5K/120hz and support HDR
Which cable are you using?I am getting 5K120 with a USB-C / DP+USB-A cable and everything works, HDR is working fine in games. 5700ti as GPU.
Are you on Windows? I'm looking into using the XDR with a Linux (Bazzite) machine with a 9070XT.I get 5K120 with that Nexhype cable, though no HDR. The PC detects it as a generic monitor with no EDID. My PC has a 9070XT. My PC does have Thunderbolt 4 via an add-in card, and that does not work with the XDR. It worked fine with the older studio display. 🤷🏻♂️
This one. It works flawlessly. My GPU is a 5070ti.Which cable are you using?
Are you planning to try the WJESOG Cable? Also, are you using Windows?Nexhype cable arrived today and I get 5K120 with 9070 XT. No HDR.

Nice.Just posting this to help anyone searching online for compatibility, I can confirm 5k 120Hz with HDR enabled on Bazzite/Linux using Cable Matters 40Gbps Bi-Directional USB-C to DisplayPort 2.1 Cable - 1.8m / 6ft with a 9070XT
EDIT: Also tested with a WJESOG cable mentioned above with the same hardware and can get 5k 60hz with HDR, 4k at 120hz, full webcam and audio support. Bazzite also lets me control brightness and audio with keyboard shortcuts, no need to install any additional software or script.
