I have an iPhone 3G running 3.0. It seems like everything is setup but I have not recieved any push notifications in badges or pop up notifications like were shown during testing and the media events. I have apps that should be sending me these notifications like Zillows, AP Mobile, and Tap Tap but I have not recieved any since I installed 3.0 around 2:30 on Wednesday. Have non of these apps sent notifications? I figured at least AP Mobile would send me one, news is always changing.

I read here that a couple people had gotten one from AP News or whatever it is. I don't have it.

I did get one from TextFree so I can say that one is working as it should.

im waiting for an rss reader that does push, mbox mail would be great with push, as would weatherbug elite for weather alerts. Since push went live I have received 1 notification for AP news

I THINK I got one from TTR2. It was like "did you know you can download songs etc etc etc?" Then I could choose either "continue" or "cancel." I was in game though =\.

You have to activate push in an app before you see it in settings.

I have only received the one push from AP.

I havent gotten any. I just installed AP mobile the other night. ****ing apple, I want aim released... or at least beejive or im+

This afternoon my Zillow app showed a 13 beside it and sure enough in the saved searches was 13 new listings.

I got nine or ten from Star Defense... people challenging me. In fact, when you get an alert, it makes the same default noise as a text. I had to turn them off because I kept getting them at 3 a.m. and they were waking me up.

I wish there were more options to control notification noises (so you can silence them), acceptable times of day, etc.

If left unchecked, they might become awfully annoying.

I've only got one push alert from AP Mobile, and that was regarding the flight where the captain died mid-flight, iirc...

I wasn't expecting it, and I had never heard the sound before so it spooked me a little bit.

2 days of having AP mobile installed and I saw 1 badge update but didn't give me an alert. Not sure what the problem is.

I contacted AP about a month or so ago about how to get our paper's stuff on there. Dude responded by e-mail and said he'd get back to me about how to do so. Um, still waiting.

AP is a nonprofit funded by its members. With a lot of its members getting kicked in the pants financially, AP is probably not prioritizing everything we wish. They have some buggy-as-hell software we use daily, so I'm pretty sure breaking news alerts aren't going to exactly work perfectly out of the gate.
